Stay tuned, will be shopping around my open letter to Canadians soon π
I think that's it, and luckily it actually seems to be happening as of this year. π«
CBC pods not I included in that statement, but even they aren't just for Canadians!
It's wild! I've been talking to advertisers that want to break into π, but can only think of maybe 20 pods doing over 10k a month, including networks... not to mention, downloads are dying.
Either I'm missing something, or the industry needs a better perception of the ecosystem here!
Am I totally wrong here?
If your Canadian-focused show is seeing over 10k downloads a month, will you please let a girl know??
I'm convinced that the market of Canadian podcasts FOR Canadian audiences is stuck in a place where their shows simply cant get "big enough" to monetize.
The ad industry seems to still be focused on shows hitting 10k+ downloads a month, but our pop. just isnt big enough to hit that on a large scale
LOVED having you on the show, Chris! Thanks so so much for your time!
@christopherewing.bsky.social would love to invite you to join our show Curious Tourism to discuss sex tourism. What's the best way to get in touch? :)

Shout out to @podthenorth.bsky.social who recognized that the red maple leaf has been in the Toronto Mike'd logo since its launch in 2012. Toronto Mike'd has always been proudly and unapologetically Canadian. π¨π¦
