Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!
Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.
Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

Love how this normalizes being honest about your limits and creates natural buddy pairings. Turns “I don’t want to seem weak” into “I’m being responsible.”

The reason the IRS has no data-leaking API is not because they don't know how to schedule a "hackathon." Instead it's because the API:
1. Likely violates the Privacy Act of 1974
2. Is not within the IRS's mandate
3. Would be a huge target for attacks against the privacy of all Americans
If you are a North Carolina voter OR YOU KNOW PEOPLE IN NC check to see if your/their name is on the list. There are 15 days to fix the incomplete registrations so these votes don't get tossed out.
Booker just broke the record for the longest floor speech in US Senate history. He used his power to:
1. forestall the dismantling of democracy by DOGE
2. tell his personal story
A good time for all of us to think about how we can do both these things
