I really wish the T would stop lying with these "trains every 6 to 8 minutes" claims. Just be honest and put it on a 30 minute schedule so I don't have to stand and waste 25 minutes.
One of my undergrad advisees, "If have been on my phone for too long and I go on my laptop it feels like I have been reading a book."
Why is BU's course registration page using the language "shopping cart"? Education is not a product that you pick off the shelf, it is a process of growth of learning, of being challenged, not something to be consumed and discarded.

"This is a victory for every single one of us... we mounted a pressure that could not be ignored."
MIT refused Trump. Rather than the act of one individual university president, grad workers and other organizers applied pressure to make it happen.

What a grim reality.
Lyft sending me an email urging me to "take action" and send an automatically generated text message to Brandon Johnson urging them not to increase taxes on Rideshare companies.
Perhaps it is time for "death of the user"
On Wednesday, Sept 17, Davis Square workers voted to join Starbucks Workers United. One week later, on Thursday the 25th, Starbucks announced the imminent closure of hundreds of stores nationwide. By the 27th, the store had permanently closed.

Giving another shout-out to Ta-Nehisi Coates. This is a really well done article by a man who has continuously gone up in my book as an artistic and intellectual voice worth following.

BUT it also has the CCO (Chief Client Officer) of TP or Teleperformance a company famous for its deep and long history of union-busting, weaponizing the global south for exploitation, and are at the center of the awful working conditions for content moderators.
Currently sitting through a Boston University (my university) official seminar on AI and its effect on careers. Not only is this panel full of nothing-balls, with a full wide range of management word-vomit including: empathy, distribution, and literate.
There are two labor and tech writers in Boston? And they both have the name Freddy?!?
Fun lunchtime video if your head is spinning after a long week of work before an academic deadline!

The notion that capitals boot will be removed by economic collapse is so dystopian and a-historic, but also feels so representative of our current times.
"I think we might be cooked chat"
And yet, in their posts and comments it seems like they are praying for an economic collapse under capitalism. But of course, as is well documented, economic crisis benefit the bourgeois, not workers (think bank bailouts and workers losing homes).
And for some reason this is really interesting to me. It seems like these redditors have correctly identified the mass-failures of neoliberalization, recognizing the need for a fundamental shift in how we allocate and produce resources.
