Luxembourg Whimsy: Visual Silence Wrapped in a Sugar-Sweet Coating When I was about seven years old, I saw a movie called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I don’t remember much about the plot, but I do remember two images: Julie Andrews singing from atop a music box and the cunning Child Catcher running around the town shouting, “I smell children!” It was a whimsical movie, and the Luxembourg whimsy I found on a snowy February weekend evoked these cinematic memories from my childhood.

So ashamed to be an American today.

Wise words.

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory.

Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.
