Bar Italia are one of those useless bands that FEELS like they've existed since the aughts at least, having long ago run out of ideas, but still weirdly celebrated by fashionable people who are meant to have taste and yet could never in a million years pick a properly good LP to put on at a party.
Listened to Sir Richard Bishop for the first time and, against my better judgement, wrote about it for @thequietus.com.
Thing is, even if Bobby Pickett’s The Monster Mash is not actually The Monster Mash but a song about dancing to a song called The Monster Mash… I bet they still sound very similar. I’ll give you any odds that this “graveyard smash” didn’t sound like Ante Up by M.O.P.
