I’m 30 days into my 60-day book buying ban, and I find myself reflecting on questions like:

This is so difficult. Why did I decide to do this?

What is even the purpose of this? Just prove I can do it?

Do I actually just hate myself?

Is it cheating if I do 2 separate 30-day book buying bans?

This is what I’ve read so far in 2026. I was hoping to have more poetry books in there, but it’s still been a fun ride so far. 💙📚

They excited for a new book in August (magic academic rivals travel to hell to get a rec from a teacher). But then it turned into dumping on romantasy with statements like “if they so much as kiss, it will ruin the whole book for me,” and then they went on and on about it.

I just had to stop listening to a certain book-related podcast because of all the literary smug superiority. I wanted to just love on all books together, but then they had to go dumping on certain genres.
