Reminds me of a half-joking quote from a research interview I conducted in 2017: The HO/MoJ split looking much more "continental": "You talk to any Europeans, and it is always the Interior Ministry are a bunch of semi fascists and the Justice Ministry tend to be peopled by more liberal types."
Anyone have a view on this? Maybe @samfr.bsky.social π

Podcast episode just out by @publicpolicyuos.bsky.social! Sense check query for anyone Education-oriented: For my (criminal justice) research, various policy makers have pointed to Education as an area that has seen a lot of bureaucracy stripped out, real improvements in that regard over the past (5? 10? 15?) years. C'est vrai?
Itβs been a real pleasure to work with Andrew, Phil and Paula from the @prisonradiouk.bsky.social and can really recommend not just the three episodes weβve been part of, but their much wider collection of excellent βThe Secret Life of Prisonsβ podcasts ππ»
π The project team share four dominant themes that emerged from their research and how they shape some of the key messages from the project.
