I think people have trouble sometimes putting it into words. And also in some (of course not all) cases the threat isnβt as visceral. Itβs so hard to describe accurately what itβs like to teach to the tests.
I really have doubts.
Been thinking about this exact thingβpossible that people who should care canβt imagine anyone not immediately understanding their view. Better than the alternative possibility, which is that they donβt think it matters since only some people should be expected to care about books/ideas.

Progressives and Democrats have become incurious about, and in some cases openly hostile to, public education issues. I do not understand it. It's bizarre. Universal free public education is one of the greatest achievements of this country, and a fundamentally progressive win.
