CULTIC getting me in the christmas spirit

Hold up. The other new game is a remake of the first game, and connects the reboot-trilogy Lara to the current one, which incidentally is the same as the one in the Legend Trilogy, which itself contains a remake of the first Tomb Raider game?
I need to lie down.
Definitely prefer this version of the cover
There is no peace amongst the stars.

There's a Senior Game Designer position open at Creative Assembly if anyone on here is interested.

When they claim it again in a year or so will you ask them why they lied to you this time?
It's pretty funny how we went from "the internet is great, if one node goes down we can just reroute so there's no single point of failure that can take out half the internet" to "lol, half the internet is down because of AWS"
"again"
I actually don't mind them but wouldn't miss them. Also
"you don't have to fight enemies and the platforming is easy" - OK why make me do it again then?
"helps you cool off" lmao no if it did the people wouldn't be complaining about it in the first place
Never has a band been more technically my thing without being my thing at all than BTBAM
Ah I see it's that time that comes around every few years, "Can I make it past the half way point of a Between the Buried and Me album before I turn it off"
To be honest though there's no harm in applying for stuff regardless, in my experience those criteria are geared to people already in the industry, and aren't a hard and fast rule anyway. Relevant similar experience would usually get you a look in at least.
I don't think you understand what the word "reconstruct" means, but as a hint, it's not the same as "construct".
need another quiet saturday night like this one again soon
Fun fact: as a technical designer, GAS can stand for both Gameplay Ability System and Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
oh my god that sounds like both the greatest and worst thing of all time
Grabbed a JHS 3 Reverb Pedal.
I'm bestowing this thing the "most satisfying pedal click" award. Everything else just feels wrong now.
Giving the ol earplugs a workout
"what they liked about 4o was [thing it wasn't capable of doing because it is an LLM], unlike 5 which also cannot"
today is a momentous day as we have finally paid off our car
it also hopefully marks an end to the "UWU ARE YOU SUUUURE YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE ON MORE DEBT" emails from the car financing people
looking at the new games workshop logo and for some reason wondering if bolt thrower ever reformed they'd use this logo
Mitochondrion might be worth a listen for you, think they're BC based.
Moved into our house this week. It's great, but: lightswitches. WTF.
"Let me just turn the hall light on"
"Nope, that's the upstairs landing. Nope, that's the porch light. Nope, that's the kitchen. Nope, that's the downstairs loo. Wait, what, there's only 3 switches?"
against my better judgement I read a games tech thread on resetera today and learned that because a lot of people don't know what anti aliasing is that games don't actually need it
I do solemnly swear that if I ever get to start my own game studio in the future, I will make a cool modestly scoped game as a foundation and not promise to redfine the entire industry with my quintuple A hubris
One thing in the game price discourse that makes me laugh is pointing out how N64 games were, and that they're cheaper after inflation than games are today. As if they live in the alternate universe where wages even remotely kept up with inflation and we aren't all significantly poorer than then.
I don't really have a horse in this "dev team size" race that's going on at the moment, but I'm happy that all of the most annoying people on the internet have something new that they don't really understand to be really annoying about.
a mere stepping stone on my road to victory
sorry random toad player, but lets be honest you probably deserved it
The letters from the car finance people are incredible.
"hey you'll have finished owing us money next month! If you don't let us know what's next we'll be forced to assume you just want to keep your car instead of taking on more debt from us!"
Like yes I bought the car so I could keep it
Lots of amazing stuff in Mario Kart World, but so far the online races feel like a massive miss to me. It's basically like the only thing that actually matters is how close to the finish line you are when your turn to get battered by 8 billion items and sent to last place comes around.
