It would! Back in 1991, I just thought "that's how this episode ends", but it has absolutely nothing to do with the preceding story, of course.
When Sky One broadcast the Springfield Gorge episode, they did tack the video on the end of it. But when I saw it repeated on the BBC, it had disappeared.
Do The Bartman reminds me that the only way I could see The Simpsons at the time was by lending a friend of mine a blank video each Friday to tape it off Sky One over the weekend. #TOTP
I think Alright Now got re-released because it was in an advert where a boy rips a strip of chewing gum in half and gives the other half to a girl on the bus. Rather than manage to spare a whole strip. #TOTP
