I was wondering about this! Were they the ones over at the Arch building?

Never enough success or money in the world to not cut down the team ruthlessly.
We're right back in the model of hiring up to make the game and firing once it's out.

ECCC was awesome, it's a highlight of every year for us but this year the layout changes were really great.

my9games.com
Not my 9 favourite games, but rather 9 games that changed how I thought about what I enjoy when playing video games.
If I could add a 10th, it would be Overwatch.

It's weird, when I access the page from the profile, it looks blank... but I can see the post when you've quoted it, and click through no problem. It's just the basic "bsky.app/profile/archifexart.bsky.social" URL that appears blank. Media tab doesn't have anything either.
Is it just me?

Yes :) Mistborn is a great trilogy, relatively self contained, and knowledge of it will help read Stormlight later.

Agreed, legit mistake.
I think the community anger & dogpiling comes more from the environment right now. We have so little under our control in the chaos of today, that as soon as something or someone does come into our sphere, we tear at it because it's the only thing we can exert control over.

Today is Holi! Here's my thread on the story of the holiday. May your faith remain strong and bring you triumph over injustice!

My eyesight isn't 20/20 even when corrected, and I did think it was called The M_chine for a while. It took looking at the full cover at a bigger size that I could see "lucky".

Every Metal Gear Solid game I play unlocks a swathe of internet jokes I never understood before, some I didn't even recognize as referential humour!

Putting ChatGPT in charge of US military actions does feel a little too far for a reference though.

Yo a METEORITE just burned up over Vancouver!!! I heard the windows shake while I was chatting with @shivambhatt.bsky.social and thought it was just the neighbours slamming a door above me, but it was the sonic boom from the bolide!!! That's so cool!!!

It's a tearjerker but Red Dog is an amazing Australian film. I love Strictly Ballroom too, that's a 1992 one!

Read this whole thread up and down. Delilah explains the damage and hazards of Orientalism so well.

FFXIV continually steps on this rake, and they aren't the only game to do so.

03.03.2026 21:56 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Orientalism assumes that β€œthe Orient” (North Africa, the Arabian Gulf, South Asia, TΓΌrkiye, and sometimes even SEA and East Asia) are all one big (ignorant) blob. It stems from Eurocentrism and colonialism.

It waters down dozens of cultures by reducing them to vague similarities.

The best way to learn how to honour a culture is to learn about it first. Learn about its people, their traits and habits, humanise them and respect them. Even with incorporating fantasy elements, you’ll find that each culture is rich in folklore and mythology to draw inspiration from. 🩷

Take, for example, these images. The details of each one are in the alt text, but the main point is that each country has its own countless subcultures. Ignoring these distinctions inherently communicates that they’re not worth learning about because the β€œOrient” is inferior.

holding the impossibly nuanced position that an imperialist war against a country is still bad even if its government is bad
