Take this as your sign that YOU too can fight back against ICE. Everyone has a part to play when it comes to resistance!

Why it's important for kids to read whole books--plus why what happened in Mississippi isn't a "miracle" but evidence that science-aligned teaching can lead to dramatic improvements.
So can having kids read whole books.

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me? Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

A statement from Kamala D. Harris: Los Angeles is my home. And like so many Americans, I am appalled at what we are witnessing on the streets of our city. Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos. In addition to the recent ICE raids in Southern California and across our nation, it is part of the Trump Administration’s cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division. This Administration’s actions are not about public safety —they’re about stoking fear. Fear of a community demanding dignity and due process. Protest is a powerful tool — essential in the fight for justice. And as the LAPD, Mayor, and Governor have noted, demonstrations in defense of our immigrant neighbors have been overwhelmingly peaceful. I continue to support the millions of Americans who are standing up to protect our most fundamental rights and freedoms.
My statement on what's unfolding in Los Angeles.
If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline.
There is support. You don’t have to go through with it. 877-447-4487
Fantastic work by the lab, @drtate.bsky.social and @markwarschauer.com

An email to hr@opm.gov enumerating the tasks I performed last week, and encouraging the reader to resist the illegal activities Elon Musk is doing. Also, a word of the day lesson, talking about the origin of the word "sabotage."
I wonder what would happen if we all wrote letters to hr@opm.gov enumerating our tasks from last week, and encouraging the reader to resist this illegal and immoral bullshit? Also, I like to increase folks knowledge with a "word of the day" lesson. I hope it's helpful.
