Page from a 1960s childrenβs book depicting a little British town with buildings from ancient to modern arranged around a little park with trees, in the foreground a busy road with traffic, the illustration is in black, grey, white and yolk yellow. Underneath are the words the big shops in town are further away
Page from a 1960s childrenβs book with a small black square containing an illustration of the sun moon and stars surrounded by the words Words to talk about near further away many miles hundreds of miles thousands of miles Which is further away?
Something so beautifully plaintive about the contents.
Evokes the near-far, bittersweet distance of childhood photos: rooms weβll never enter again, relatives caught unguarded in domestic activity, long gone shops that once were sites of wonder to our small selves, autumnal Lucozade cellophane light

Resigning from being a person to turn into a numb mysterious ether.
Will simply become an achingly wistful quality of light, emit some gentle barely audible susurration & a scent so luscious, evocative & ambiguous that perfumers fire themselves in despair.
Gonna do so much intriguing shimmering bbz
AI is one thing but imagine if people in other countries could suffer? That would really change things, I think.

Stuff I notice
If instantaneous transit / #StarTrek #teleportation ever DID become possible I think everyone would drive themselves mad thinking that the βnextβ beach etc might be that little bit nicerβ¦ weβd be even less psychologically comfortable in our spaces than we are now.
The nostalgia for past times when America sent its finest to Europe to protect democracy from dictators is now fully reversed.
