Warm sunshine at lunchtime so I thought as I'm working for home I'd take advantage of it for 20 minutes and mow the little back lawn for the first time. Turns out that the grass was a lot damper than I thought it was despite no rain for a couple of days, so not the best job I've ever made of it.

I am contemplating sifting some back garden compost into a fine tilth and then heating that in the oven at 200ºC for 20 minutes or so. Might do a small trial batch as it would be easier that carrying 40l bag a mile or so from the nearest shops.
Probably make the kitchen smell *lovely* though.
I want to do mine but I need to get a bag or two of peat free compost. I've loads of potting compost in the bins outside here, but learnt the lesson some years ago about using that for seed sowing!
I've taken a step closer to actually welding something by learning this evening how to thread, clamp and feed the flux core wire into my new welder. Glad I found this video on YouTube because the Lidl instructions, whilst technically correct, weren't terribly clear.
