No way! Seriously??!!
π¬ I was very eagerly hoping #Mets might have been able to pry him away from the Reds. Now he may need Tommy John surgery. Glad we went out and got Freddy instead! #dodgedabullet
I remember him. Was he caught twice?
Most of my posts are #Mets and MLB-related, but some of you may know that since '99 I've built equal passion for Australian rules football, its elite AFL competition and my favorite club, #freodockers. Sad news tonight: legendary TV voice, Denis Commetti, one of my early footy teachers, has died.π₯Ί
I admit, being a man of a certain age, I remember the Mayor's Trophy Game from my childhood. It was a charity benefit game which raised funds for "sandlot" baseball around NYC. It took place from right after the Mets joined MLB in '62 and the last one I remember was played in '82 at Yankee Stadium.
On that note...True story: When I was a little kid, I thought the annual Mayor's Trophy Game, an in-season exhibition between the Mets and Yankees was fake because it wasn't on TV or radio!π
How is a national team fake?
Not in its entirety. I would hope MLBPA would educate the players in all applicable languages about the policy's nuances. The majority of players voted to ratify the existing CBA and abide by its rules. I just can't believe Profar, after an 80-game ban, would willingly risk greater punishment.
Too easy and too obvious. Something tells me there may be more to this story than meets the eye.
Huge news out of Atlanta. But this makes me wonder, as it might you: Surely no one could be this uninformed to be convicted twice, right? Was this some kind of mistake, or is there some banned ingredient so obscure or in such small quantity that Profar may not have realized he was breaking a rule?π€

Love my #Mets, but whoever's running the sound at Clover Park? π I don't need to hear the "Mexican Hat Dance" every 2 seconds -- especially NOT when the Mets are in the field. Fan prompt music traditionally is played when the home team HITS, to inspire rallies, not when it fields.
Thatβs why I said I understand and respect the decision to move on from him.

The way they've gone full bore with the youth movement, probably 15.
Very happy to see him find a landing spot. I still think, despite his advanced baseball playing age and physical challenges playing the field, he could've been helpful to #Mets in a part-time role, but I fully understand and respect the decision to move on from him. Hope he has success in KC.

Some #Mets observations so far:
*Ryan Lambert can bring it β definitely being groomed for future closer
*Mike Tauchman looks like a solid seat-warmer for Carson Benge in RF if heβs not yet ready
*Bo Bichette is not at all embarrassing himself at 3B
*AJ Ewing looks like a good situational hitter
π Yep. He leads all of MLB in that department. Most times, directors will give a cue, or thereβs a script to follow, such as: βWeβll be back after this word from Manufacturerβs Hanover.β

I wrote about an American footy hopeful like that in my book -- Alex Starling. The Swans' recruiting of him paved the way for the AFL's adopting the Category B International Rookie status. He was a freak athlete and in his trials he seemed like a footy natural. But injuries sabotaged him.π₯Ί
Kash Patel is a tool.
