Grief touches everything.
And we often donβt realize all the places it might want to take us.
Thanatological consultations exist for that in-between space: not therapy, not coaching, but something deep, steady, and real. coleimperi.com/consultations

When MoMA wanted to explore grief through art, they brought me in. I helped interpret sculpture for adults + children, contributed to their online course, and offered nuanced context. A grief-informed lens works in museumsβand in your work, too. coleimperi.com/consultations

Are you a coach, therapist, educator, or funeral professional exploring how to integrate grief or loss into your work?
Thanatological consulting can help clarify your path.

If your life is public, it can be even harder to grieve privately.
My consultations create space for those navigating loss behind the scenesβwhile leading, performing, creating, advocating, or caregiving.
You donβt have to carry it alone. coleimperi.com/consultations

Some grief is quiet. No funeral, no public acknowledgment, just you carrying it alone. If this is you, know this: your grief is real, even if no one else sees it.

Grief isnβt the thing that makes life harderβitβs what helps you process the loss. Donβt punish grief for the pain caused by the loss. Grief is here to help you with the hurt caused by the loss. Grief wants to make life easier for us.

I help people with practical things like writing sympathy notes, supporting grieving friends, and understanding how grief works. Grief isnβt something to fixβitβs something to witness, and something to listen to. The best thing you can do? Show up for yourself and others in a tangible way.

I write about grief, home, and healing, exploring how our spaces support us through loss. My upcoming book, being published by Penguin, reflects a blend of science-based grief literacy and practical, non-clinical ways to make your home (and all the spaces you inhabit) a place for healing.

Thanabotany, a field that explores the relationship between plants and death, came out of a botanical research fellowship I had in ~2017. From funeral flowers to the use of herbs for managing grief, the natural world plays a powerful role in both how we experience loss and also find comfort.

Not all losses involve death. I coined the term Shadowloss to describe losses *in* life rather than *of* lifeβthings like divorce, job loss, or estrangement. Naming these experiences helps people process and honor their grief. And it's important to have non-clinical language in our toolbags.
