These word count requirements are for me, specifically. Other editors may have different expectations, so ask them if you are unsure! Fun fact: My #RevPit winner's manuscript last year was 105k words.
I've been getting a few questions about what word count ranges I accept for #RevPit.
50k–90k: Ideal (lower end for MG, higher for YA/A).
90k–100k: Totally fine.
100k–130k: You can send to me, just know I will have to REALLY love it to pick it as a winner.
130k+: Too long for the scope of RevPit.

Reminder to actually read through the contracts freelancers send you. The editorial agreement I send to clients isn't just gibberish; it includes relevant information about your project, including the fee, the delivery date, payment policies, and more. It's important to understand what you sign!

I used to be quite a stickler for structure—like, “you have to follow these beats or your story won’t work!” I’m much more fluid in my approach now, but I still think structure can be really helpful, especially if you have trouble with pacing. #Writing #Editing
