Pedant brain says there must be an election somewhere on April 18. Sure enough elections calendar says there are a few.

if someone would only guarantee that the black, gay, Hispanic, liberal, whatever, in the next box over doesnβt even have a curtain rod, or a sparrow to put on it.β
Davis X. Machina 2/2
I don't know, we may see this old quote put to test:
βThe salient fact of American politics is that there are fifty to seventy million voters each of who will volunteer to live, with his family, in a cardboard box under an overpass, and cook sparrows on an old curtain rod, 1/2
This is one reason why denying health care (vaccinations) to undocumented is stupid as well as wrong.
I doubt having insurance would stop the captain from worrying about the crew mutinying. Thier lives will be on the line.
Same question for Lewandowsky
what did Mullin know and when did he know it? Just wondering if this came as a surprise to both of them.
I'm sure Lewandowski will continue to serve at the pleasure of the Secretary.
I kid, there are probably more malignant congress critters than brain dead ones.
I'm not sure you would have a quorum if you did that. But you wouldn't need to get rid of all of them, just enough of them.

The front cover of A Pox on Fools: The True Believers, Grifters, and Cynics Who Convinced Us to Reject Vaccines." The cover shows a black circle with the title and the author's name (mine!) in white. The bottom right of the circle is indented, pushed by the needle of a pre-WW2 syringe, held in someone's left hand. In the space between the hand and the spine of the book, there's a blurb by geneticist, author, and broadcaster Adam Rutherford: "Brimming with righteous anger, this book should infuriate you for all the right reasons, and arm you to take on the grifters and their war against science."
With all the horrors around us, talking up a book seems...weird.
But I have a book coming and it is, I believe, an important oneβone hope help persuade the vaccine hesitant (those who've heard the noise but aren't yet consumed by anti-vax BS).
Anyway, here's the latest iteration of the US cover:
I liked "Absense of Malice" but I am not a lawyer, so you might end up picking it apart. It's more about the press than about the lawyers.
So English majors get to be mean girls for grades? Cool.
I'm pretty sure the answer to "can you still get X if you got the vaccine" is yes for pretty much any value of X. But it is often a milder case than it would be if unvaxxed.
We've turned the circus analogy into reality.
Of course Iran probably had some sort of post strike plan on the order of take a licking and keep on ticking. It's possible that the sum total of the US, Israel, Saudi plans are for Iranians to eat shit and die. But it would be interesting to see what those plans were and how different they are.
I'd be shocked if there was a US plan before the action, but I suspect there is some level of plan from the Israeli side and another from the Saudis (assuming reporting of there pre strike involvement is correct). Not that those plans would be in Iran's, our, or each others interest.
Is there a litteral white flight from South Africa to the US? I thought that was a relatively small number that wanted to leave.
I don't think "God has a special providence for fools, drunkards, and the United States of America" has been working for us lately.
Ugh. This is going to be an absolute mess.
