I think we need to tell that to the Maine independents who don't like Collins nor Mills...
I think we need to tell that to the Maine independents who don't like Collins nor Mills...
That is amazing... it would have been higher if it wasn't for the voter suppression tactics that occurred in Dallas and Williamson counties, which was unfortunate. Still, very good turnout numbers wise for a primary election in Texas.
My hope is that by March 23rd at 5pm MST, the Arizona Dems recruit a full slate of Democratic candidates to run up and down the ballot, including rural/red districts that have been overlooked for many years to give voters a choice. That's the filing deadline to run for office.
But of course, if he retired early, there was no guarantee that Phil Scott (R) would appoint another Dem to replace Bernie Sanders. So there's that.
I think term and age limits need to be considered... the U.S. Term Limits group is pushing for a state constitutional convention on term limits.
And yet gas and other prices are up... I don't get it, but oil prices surging due to the conflict is the reason for these sharp increases.
What we need to do next time is reach out and tell the 150k Texans who faced those obstacles on Election Day, to consider voting early in person rather than being an Election Day voter. That option is there and they should use it to be honest to skip the long lines on Election Day.
Can't win if we don't run folks... and it's time for the Show Me state to change things for the better by contesting every seat in the State House and State Senate (March 31 by 5pm local time is the filing deadline for folks to run).
There are good people right now that we could reach out to.
And this reminds me... the Winter Paralympics officially start today with the opening ceremonies (although competition started on March 4th), goes until March 15th. He played in the Summer Paralympics for the men's wheelchair basketball team for four cycles.
Fortunately block walking has been good to them, though I think a lot of credit should be given to the local county Democratic Party precinct chairs for their efforts - even going to precincts that don't currently have a precinct chair as of yet.
Having said that, going to back to people checking their voter registration status, finding polling places, the deadline to register to vote (Texas is early), and voter ID requirements - all of this which takes less than 5 minutes, can be done on this website below. www.usa.gov/confirm-vote...
That's assuming if people have time to get out and vote during the early voting period... part of the problem that we're dealing with is that a number of people have full time day jobs, and in some cases having to work on weekends or do a double shift, meaning that they don't have enough time.
And that is something Talarico and his campaign team will need to work on from now through November 3, 2026, but also reminding people about the deadline to register to vote, finding polling locations, voter ID requirements... as well as voting early in person if possible to avoid the E-Day chaos.
And I really would love to flip TX so badly this year... if we do so, that also means a better Secretary of State, as the governor would choose who the new Secretary of State would be by appointment.
Right now, in Missouri, there are 6 state senate races and 53 state representative races that are running without a Democrat on the ticket.

SPREAD THE WORD. WE NEED CANDIDATES TO RUN!!
The filing deadline is 31 March
Not that much better to be honest...
Let's just say that it has been a bad week (a really bad week) for Trump and the GOP... in addition to those below, Bondi has been subpoenaed. bsky.app/profile/chic...
There's a number of inauthentic accounts out there on social media lately... most of the pro-Crockett accounts fall into that category and someone is paying money in an attempt to suppress turnout.
The real people who voted for Crockett, I'd say the vast majority will back Talarico in the general.
And I'm hoping this year will be the year that the Arizona Dems will finally, finally get a trifecta in the state legislature for the first time in six decades... they've been so close in recent cycles to the point where getting a trifecta would be a very big deal in so many ways.
I'm going to have to agree with you on this one... who knows, in the end they may be better than we expected them to be, and with a full and/or near full slate of down ballot candidates, enough money raised could put top of the ticket candidates and others over the finish line.
Virginians! This is for all of you out there... early voting starts tomorrow and we need to win this one in a landslide so that the court will be more likely to uphold the redistricting referendum.
We can't be complacent and take any chances... we've got to go all in here to win and win big.
🚨ATTENTION VIRGINIA VOTERS
Earlier this week, a court ruled that Democratic lawmakers’ special election, which would allow voters to decide on mid-decade redistricting to counter GOP gerrymandering, can proceed.
Know a Virginia resident? Let them know they can begin voting TOMORROW.
And they either voted for Trump, 3rd party, sat out, and/or worked at a foreign troll farm to sow discord and discourage people from voting by using disinformation tactics.
It seems to me that the inauthentic accounts (a lot of them) who bash the Dems on a constant basis, like to move the goalposts all the time.
We need to call them out and provide the actual facts, and if they won't admit the truth, then we need to block and report them.
And two other conservadems were ousted in the primaries for overturning Stein's vetoes (although for other reasons).
And in the case of state legislative stuff if they want to sing/send the pre-filled letters, people would contact their state representative and/or state senator in their district (of course, they want to get to their constituents' responses first).
Not only I would block them, but I'd also report those types of accounts... to me, there's been too much of an increase of these accounts in recent weeks and/or days.
We've seen this happen a lot in the House this term when it comes to close votes, more specifically the GOP side of things where a few holdouts vote no, only for the House leadership to twist arms and vote yes, among other things (holding the vote open until a majority of members vote yes or no).
Would be nice if they addressed the Maine Democratic Senate primary today... I'm hearing more people are concerned about Platner's social media comments and his other issues. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on this and whether if you've reached out to local Maine groups about these issues.
Even despite the good news for Dems (generally), this still doesn't account the fact that there were voter suppression tactics in Dallas and Williamson counties on E-Day - people having to be turned away all because the GOP in those counties refused to agree to hold a joint primary election.
True words have never been spoken... :)
