Probably took a bit longer to compute than I'd view as "acceptable" - but this is just for fun and not work ๐

that was pretty much my takeaway from it too - it seems like it might be helpful in very specific situations, but in general shouldn't be needed.

This is the kind of thing available in Japan - a couple of buttons for calling specific people, a clock and camera. www.docomo.ne.jp/product/ky41c/
The Wellington #swift language user group last week was a blast! So good to see the community come out for the event and support our amazing speakers. Check out the videos here (I need to work on the camera angle for next time!): www.youtube.com/@WellingtonS...
I know this was just a side comment - but on versioned package files - do they rely on you manually renaming them from e.g. Package@6.2.0.swift to Package.swift or is there some extra smarts in SwiftPM to handle this?
I'm really looking forward to the very first Swift Language User Group meetup in Wellington next week! We've got a great group of people lined up to speak and there's been a lot of interest from the community - it's going to be a blast! #swift www.linkedin.com/events/welli...
My iPhone 12 mini is struggling to keep up with Liquid Glass UI updates in iOS 26. I don't think the new UI looks terrible, but I find it hard to believe that this isn't just Apple trying to find a reason for people to buy new devices.

First attempt at cross-compiling #swift using swift-sdk-generator. Pretty straightforward to use, once you manage to find it... there's a lot of older posts and discussion around cross compilation that muddy the waters a bit.
Today I am officially announcing and open sourcing tui! Tui is a small, cross platform, open source embeddable scripting language and serialization library for C++ github.com/mjdave/tui
I'm organizing #swift language user group in Wellington on December 11th. This is something that I've been thinking about for a long time, but never had the guts to follow through with. Given the initial reactions to it, I wish I'd arranged something sooner.

I've been writing a few shell scripts recently, so thought I'd give swift-argument-parser a go. It seems pretty smooth and certainly easier to write in swift than bash, but the compilation factor probably means I won't end up using it. At what point does a shell script justify a compiled binary?
My track record with social media hasn't been great, so we'll see how we go here. Literally just created this account to have a way to track xcodereleases - mostly going to post about swift... maybe some music stuff if I get adventurous โ๏ธ
