ExoSLAM is done!!! 🔭🪐☄️The summer school has been a great success and we learned so much! Special thank you to the organizers, lecturers and of course participants for making it such a great time!! Onto ExoClimes! 💫🤩
Kicking off with ExoSLAM hosted by former @oxoplanets.bsky.social member Dr Joost Wardenier, who is the chair of the summer school which focuses on exoplanet observations.
Super excited to be attending ExoSLAM and ExoClimes VII (@exoclimes.bsky.social) in Montreal exoclimes.org
The second edition of the exoSLAM summer school has officially begun!! ☄️🛸👽🧑🚀👩🚀👾
IT’S ALMOST TIME!!! 😍🤩 The badges and goodies have arrived and the fun kicks off with exoSLAM tomorrow!!
Can’t wait to see all of the exoSLAM participants tomorrow at Campus MIL to learn about some cool science 💫🔭🪐☄️🚀
Calling all ExoSLAM Participants 🚀🧑🎓📝 Our schedule is out for the second edition of the Summer school!! From July 3rd to the 5th we will be learning all about data reduction and analysis techniques for exoplanet atmospheric characterization! See the schedule here: exoclimes.org/exoslam/inde...
🚨🚨🚨 Exoclimes Program is LIVE 🚨🚨🚨
Check out our website to see the list of speakers, the book of poster abstracts and the Exoclimes schedule!!! We have also released our list of ✨✨ invited speakers ✨✨. We have a theme every day! Check it out here: exoclimes.org/exoclimes_vi...
Astronomers will keep pointing out to folks that the Roman telescope is *already built* and is being prepped for launch *next year* and I know we live in a stupid timeline but cancelling Roman at this point would be SO STUPID.
US students. Looking to apply to graduate school? Had an offer rescinded recently? The University of British Columbia in Canada will re-open the application portal in some departments for US students from April 14-18.

How were these clouds were able to survive on the dayside is still a mystery 🔍 to be demystified! (4/4)
Although we don't expect clouds on the scorching hot dayside of the planet, clouds can form on the permanent frigid nightside ☁️ and winds can carry them to the dayside! Our observations suggests that somehow, these clouds were able to survive the extremely hot environment on the dayside! (3/n)
LTT 9779b is tidally locked to its host star, resulting in a permanent dayside blasted with stellar heat reaching close to 2000C 🔥 where we expect all forms of cloud to boil off!
Using the NIRISS instrument, we were able to measure starlight reflected off the dayside of the planet! (2/n)
🚨New paper alert🚨!
Cloudy skies on the hot Neptune LTT 9779b using JWST NIRISS/SOSS lead by my colleague Louis-Philippe Coulombe!
By observing the exoplanet as it completes a journey around it's host star, we mapped out its temperature and cloud coverage across the globe!
