Yes Indeed. I thought the 4x Powermate was complete overkill at first, then I finally got a night of really good seeing, and it all came together. This is probably my best planetary image with the current rig (taken back in 2021 when the rings were more open).

No I didn't go into it in that much depth, although I am aware the magnification factor in Barlow's & Powermates can change depending on the focus position. I'm just a dabbler with an entry-level planetary cam, with hopes of getting a larger aperture scope to do it more seriously one day.

I've had some success with the 4x Powermate on my 190mm Mak-Newt. It's a modest aperture for planetary imaging of course, but gives f/21.2. Good seeing reqd of course.

Well the clouds did eventually clear again, but as I didn't set up the Eq mount, this is the best I could manage, with the limb cut off due to it drifting across the eyepiece field. #lunareclipse 🔭 #astrophotograohy

Well I managed to briefly see the total #LunarEclipse through a hole in the clouds. Clouds have rolled back across so it looks like there's little chance of an image.
