I think she's right...
I know he's apparently made the "get a load of this guy" rounds once or thrice prior to getting Noem's job, but I hadn't really seen any video of him 'til last night.
I mean, at least Noem was (mostly) capable of articulating her reprehensible messaging. This new guy's a real rake-stepper.
Saw some video footage of Noem's replacement and, to go by the old clichΓ©, if you put a character like this in a movie, people would think it was too much.
I see nothing wrong here.
@shanembailey.com found it!
Yes, that's the game. Thank you.
OH DIP
Shane, you are a swell cat.
The file on my PC was dated 2017, I believe.
Thanks, Andrew. It's driving me bonkers.
Anyway, I know there was a Mac version, so I'd like to find it again and download it for my current home computer. If anyone's got any clues, send 'em my way, please!
I do have a version of it on the old store PC, which I un-mothballed to see if I could 1) find the name, 2) find any info about its makers, and 3) figure out where I downloaded it from. Only succeeded in #1 -- there is NO info about the manufacturer, either in game or in a readme.txt file.
It's just this top-down game where you're moving through a maze that changes when those portions are off-screen. You have a limited number of moves, which you can increase by defeating monsters or finding doodads. Each step you make, the monsters make one step toward you (like the old Daleks game).
THE GOOD NEWS: I finally remembered the name of this little indie computer game I played some years ago, so now I can search it out again
THE BAD NEWS: It's called "Myst." Yes, the same as one of the MOST FAMOUS COMPUTER GAMES OF ALL TIME. Which, um, makes it hard to Google.
well, shucks
Not that I've seen from what's in their online catalog so far. But I have bought a handful of things from Diamond that I'm not getting from other places (like certain toys) so I guess I'll keep an account, even if I don't use it that often.
I have nearly 40 years' worth of terrible retail stories I've heard. This is one is up there with the big dick moves a store can pull.
I really do my best to run my store the opposite of all those stories I've accumulated.
I do like Strange Brain Parts (the YouTube creator *and* the brain parts).
good grief, I just finished submitting my application for Diamond's new company and I swear I processed fewer papers buying our house
I've no idea. I'm currently erring on the side of not giving that fucker money.
Sigh, I started the process, but from the look of things I shouldn't have bothered.
I don't know, is Whedon cut completely out of the picture, including financially?
Now to decide if I really want to go through the trouble of updating my account on Diamond's new distributor site.
"Here's your office."
...Why does it only lock from the outside?
"Never you mind."
"Noem's fired."
Good.
"Her replacement's just as shitty."
Figured.
"Noem's not gone, just being moved to some new bullshit job. You'll still have to hear about her."
Great.
Yeah, I try to be *really* choosy about what Comics YouTube I watch. I don't need The Algorithm coming after me.
This is why I'm out of the loop on these things, as I try to actively avoid Comics TikTok/YouTube.
Oh hey, the LANTERNS teaser...yeah, I'll watch this show.
I enjoyed it for the "everybody fighting everybody" aspect, and there were other elements of it I enjoyed. It did feel a little like "let's introduce DC fans to the Absolute Universe" which of course is barely necessary, since Absolute DC is outselling pretty much every non-Absolute title.
Dogman was a step too far, Adam.
Maybe it could help in the long run, but boy it's frustrating in the short run!
