Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio)
YouTube video by Bruce Springsteen
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

50,000 Minnesotans marching downtown in subzero weather.
Thousands more patrolling the streets, delivering groceries, and caring for families.
Faith leaders getting arrested by the dozens in acts of civil disobedience.
This is Minnesota. We stand together.

The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible

The more I live the more Iβm astounded by how difficult it is to keep living and to remain a person. This is WORK.

Birding brings me so much peace. It was nice to momentarily escape from the world at the @saxzimbog.bsky.social. What a magical place! Highlights were Great Gray Owls, a Boreal Owl(!), Boreal Chickadee and Evening Grosebeaks.

Below three pictures (two of a parent/caregiver reading a book with a child, the other of a young person looking at a book) is the text: Empowered by Reading. The Benefits of Giving Youth Access to a Wide Variety of Reading Materials.
Books are lifesaving.
Research shows that when schools offer inclusive reading materials, LGBTQ+ students report feeling safer and better mental health outcomes.

Iβm a part time librarian and I just want to echo what Iβve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries π
The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.
