Foraging the land, supporting Southern farmers and buying local malt since 2010. Making beer (and food!) along the way. Posts by Chief Executive Optimist Sean Lilly Wilson, described by Our State Magazine as "a tall, medium-built man."

Love this book. Fun fact: every time I see it on the bookshelf I think it says Folk Wives.
Those were my kids!!! #prouddad
Sounds promising. Try em at different stages if you can! Mine only stay at green (not enough sun).
Likely to stay tart and tannic unless the skin softens and turns orange
The inspiration for our Farm's Edge series. Thx @kinggoji.bsky.social for posting this
The Dreaming is the first that came to mind, but yeah, Hounds of Love is so good too
For my English friends who may be curious if there are breweries in the states doing quality English beer the answer is yes. Zebulon Artisan Ales in Weaverville, North Carolina, absolutely kill it. Mike does a lot of collaboration w/Ron Pattinson which has ended up with some bangers like this one.
"Digging" the first-ever Regenified Supply Chain Summit -- a collective of ag-centric farms and businesses committed to soil health and renewable agriculture. Bonus points for being at Maker's Mark / bourbon country!
From coal power to solar power (not to scale). Excited to have the Spotlight Solar tables at ATC.
Today we did more business than all the Chick-fil-A's *combined* and we weren't even all that busy

Golden hour at Windfall Acres, our informal name for the Chatham County orchard we manage.
Paw paw flowers are kind of metal, to be honest. Flies are attracted to -- and pollinate -- blood red three-lobed flowers that smell of rotted meat.
Big announcement. A no-brainer. www.fullsteam.ag/journal

Productive Saturday AM meeting with Will Alphin (reBuild Design) and menu czar Phoebe Lawless (Scratch, The Lakewood)
What's with the price cut? It's so much greener than all the land surrounding it.
Show us them innards!

Can't wait for this to be what you walk into
A boring update
Pictured: @fullsteamjon.bsky.social 's sexy hand and regeneratively grown malted barley from our friends at Riverbend. Look for our first Regenified-certified beer (Reset ESB) in a few weeks.

Vitamix time! Boilt peanuts, rogar, olive oil, Old Bay into a hummus-like spread
Happy holidays! Hopefully in a year we can have warming drinks under this landmark.
Plus building a new brewery now strikes me as foolish. Tons of available capacity. Construction costs are still very high. And to rent/own a large building is very expensive. It's not very sustainable, on many fronts.
Contract brewing our growing core beers means more focus on my true calling: connecting people to the land and to one another.
I am more passionate about hospitality than I am manufacturing.
This week the City Tax Administration gave us a lovely holiday gift! We are so blessed to receive this chunky property tax audit, due in 30 days.
Bah humbug
Make plans to visit
No people pics but what a vibrant lovely crowd. I love Ashe Co. First came here on our first anniversary way back in 1993. Yep. 19 ninety freaking three
What a delightful escape to Lansing NC to celebrate the reopening of Old Orchard Creek General Store, which was ravaged by Helene. The place looks incredible. Twas an honor to buy a beer for the head of the Lansing Fire Department and to hang with Sheri Castle (who really should be on Blue Sky)!
