“Well done Angus” having another go to become the next leader of the Oz Liberal Party. “Well done Angus” got his nickname after this story was widely reported on social media & on the BBC. Well done Angus, we look forward to you making an excellent contribution 😉
I feel Jon wouldn’t mind my showing you the first draft of this, because I thought it great, but he knew the language needed to be toned down just a smidge :-)
He really knew how to stab a finger right into the chest of those who needed it
NSW police make Israeli president feel at home by mercilessly attacking anyone with a Palestine flag
"Luckily the police seemed more than excited to step in and get as violent as needed to make sure he doesn't feel homesick" - Premier Minns chaser.com.au/national/nsw...
Police used to bludgeon Australians into showing respect to war criminal guests. Australia, where saying ‘Shame’ gets you arrested but supporting genocide wins you respect
When exposing the truth causes pain
Yes no longer a RAD Refundable Accommodation Deposit. Now it’s a PRAD Partially Refundable Accommodation Deposit
Apologies, I interpreted your question to be about fee for service charges for home care. Yes there is a NACC for residential care it’s not new and was first introduced in 1997 but it’s got a new name and some details have changed. It used to be called the means-tested care fee
No, not in residential care. Only if people are living at home
For personal care, a full pensioner will pay $5/day or $35/week, a self-funded retiree will pay $50 or $350 a week. Add cleaning, meals & transport & costs soon add up to become unaffordable for people on limited incomes. Having to choose between a meal & shower is not ok in 21st century Australia.
There is no maximum cap on what an older person has to pay for services under Australia’s new Support at Home program. I argued at the Senate Inquiry that fees should be capped at 10% of fortnightly income. The government was not interested. Do we really want old people living in poverty?
It already feels like that to me
Albanese is now running what has turned out to be a centre-right government so maybe he is hoping to attract disgruntled Liberal voters
For the first time in Australia’s history, more than 50% of our power comes from renewables. Just as we achieve this tremendous milestone, the LNP demonstrates their commitment to not only supporting fossils but to becoming fossils
Do what I say, not as I do. Trump gets flu and COVID vax as usual
I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. DRINKING WATER CAUSES AUTISM. IN A DEFINITIVE STUDY ON THIS ISSUE, THE RESEARCHERS FOUND THAT THE PARENTS OF EVERY AUTISTIC CHILD HAD DRUNK WATER DURING THE PREGNANCY. THIS PROVES IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Bronnie Ware, an Australian palliative care nurse who wrote about what her patients told her at the end of their lives.
She's distilled it down into 5 themes.
"If the govt is serious about enabling people to age in place, home care must be made affordable, equitable and accessible. No older person in Australia should be forced to choose between a meal and a shower."

Government has the right to set policy. Experts have the right to tell them they are wrong. Citizens have the right to object.
No government gets every decision right. Smart governments change their policy when they realise that they have it wrong

Wow, 120,000 older Australians are waiting for an aged care assessment & a further 90,000 have been assessed, approved & waiting for a package. So over 200,000 frail older Australians waiting for the services they need to live safely at home. Disgraceful

The world is in a period of extraordinary crisis and conflict. But the new moon rises to shine beautiful light regardless
It’s time to recognise Palestine and drop the fantasy of a two state solution.
These Australian diplomats have enormous experience and wisdom. It is time for Prime Minister Albanese and Senator Wong to listen to real experts & change direction

I hope that NSW Premier Chris Minns, the NSW Police & all those who objected to the Palestine March yesterday now raise their voices to make the same comments about the annual Sydney Marathon. I’ll bet they won’t. Yet it will close the harbour bridge and clog up the city.
There is no need for Australia to increase defence spending. We are a small pacific country. China doesn’t need to attack us, we sell them whatever they want. We are of no strategic interest to Russia. Our biggest risk is America. It’s time to distance ourselves from the USA
It’s time for Australia to stop talking about Defence spending. America wants Australia to spend more on Attack funding. Australia is not under threat from any country. Our biggest risk is aligning with America when it attacks under countries. We must be non-aligned
I object to my taxes being used to pay Jillian Segal to try & stop Australians speaking up about genocide & ethic cleansing in Gaza. Australia is a tolerant country with a strong sense of truth & justice. Her proposals are vile & anti-Australian
