i did not finish a single painting last year so i decided to repaint an old piece to have *something* for an upcoming show. the despair is real, fellas.

a piece done back when i was still painting digitally. merfolk based off different creatures is a concept i’d eventually like to get back to. one day, after i clear out some projects (i’m never gonna clear out my projects lol).

my eyes are getting ahead of my hands and i’m horribly frustrated but it just means i need to practice.
i don’t do sketch covers anymore due to how i paint not being compatible with the paper type. but hands down, this is the one i’m most proud of. a commission for a really awesome client.

From the thumbnail (also pasted on to this image for ease of comparison), this is the working drawing at final size, on tracing paper, for transferring onto the actual painting surface later. This drawing will be effectively 'destroyed' in the process.

in addition to doing art, i am also the personal butler to two fur babies. Miss Charlie cat, the tuxedo, and Buttermilk, AKA Butters, AKA Stinky Baby Butt Boy, the one-eyed, crooked tail siamese.
honestly, i’d even settle for a calm weekend at this point!
