371 security/ privacy academics, including a Turing Award winner, just issued a letter saying age verification laws are building global surveillance infrastructure. Every search, message, and article read would require ID verification.
Democrats are working w/ Republicans to push these laws through

so, i put together a spreadsheet of common model api pricing together with some model routing options around.
you can see it here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
the gist is that, while routing is a bit dicey right now, there's a way to kind of "spread out" the api costs to different models.
i, like many others, have been playing with openclaw over the last few weeks. one of the things i noticed pretty fast was how pricey the api requests got.
i have some cushion built into my budget for these experiments. but it did drive me to want to investigate api pricing across the board

i gave my clawdbot a github account. i'm either going to love this or hate this.

sorry to the amazon driver that's delivering my 60lb kettle bell
i really do see the power in openclaw. but holy shit is it expensive.
at least i know more about how these ai companies are treating their platforms as loss leaders, subsidizing the price through api pricing for enterprises & users by disallowing token auth from their paid platform subscriptions.
almost daily i'm more and more convinced that anthropic & google are gonna win.
i'm having fun with openclaw, but i honestly cannot get past giving it access to my personal calendar and personal email accounts.
maybe i'm over thinking it.
Alone is QUICKLY becoming my favorite show. got me feeling like i could be a bushcraft expert

don't get me wrong, i want jarvis as much as the next person. but moltbot isn't it.

living in a place with hard water is great because water is relatively cheaper, and since there's a pump house around the corner, the water pressure is great.
but having to clean the coffee maker every other week, and buying salt for the softener is getting annoying 2 years in.
i need cold winters not just because that's a normal thing for Earth to have, but because we gotta get rid of these bugs.
taking control of global warming means less bugs.

I've been thinking about going back to iPhone recently, but I just can't bring myself to do it. honestly I love the fingerprint reader too much to go back to faceID.
I recently spent serious $$$ on really nice jackets. One was specifically for trail running & for cold weather runs.
Used it for the first time this morning in 32F weather (wind chill down to 25F) and boy, howdy! I am OVER THE MOON. Having the right gear really does make a difference.

there is a RIPE market for the combination of a live streaming platform and long-form content.
thinking YouTube (minus Shorts π€’) + Twitch live streaming. Maybe even a really good built-in VOD editor. YouTube live streaming is ποΈ and discovery is horrible.
there's space for a disruption, imo.
it's OK to ignore the macro for the micro sometimes.
