From a book I just finished.

IMO the worst mistake people make trying to AI-proof their career is dropping everything to learn AI. It's like dropping out of math to study how to push calculator buttons really fast. The skill cap for AI is going to be your understanding of the underlying subject, not how good you are at prompts.

Oh crud. I hope they don't do the same in the Utah case.

I saw the first Robin of the season in my yard today. In my book of animal prognostication, that overrides any groundhog signals from last month.

I'm reading this with the assumption that this supposed covering was supposed to be an old-timey version of the modern wedding ring? (i.e. some visible indication that this is a married lady)

Is this connected to the efforts of OpenStreetMap ? I think they also track sidewalks and crosswalks.

If I had to do it over again, I'd skip the battery backup. It added a lot to the cost, & we don't have long outages frequently enough to make it worth it.

Decent price & I liked that they steered me away from some illegal tax schemes that other vendors were pushing.

I think I first heard about them from @tommoyerut.bsky.social years ago. He might have more updated recommendations for you.

The portion of my property tax bill that goes to my city is less than I pay for a few trips to the grocery store.

The kind of person who goes out to help another is exactly the kind of neighbor we want to keep in our country.

I did appreciate that he indicated that humility needs to extend to awareness of our "incomplete teachings of religion". I took his call to patience with hope, in coming days, for some of those holes to be filled in.

A persuasive anecdote about the benefits of social media came from my grade school nephew. He had a good friend that moved away, yet they stayed connected through a gaming discord group. Because of that, when the friend moved back, their friendship was able to continue as if he never left.

I like the creative use of space. But I'd be concerned how well a solar fence would hold up against soccer balls, dogs scrabbling to bark at neighbors, and spray-painting vandals.

A 20 year period in the US with no criminal record seems better vetting than could ever be obtained via foreign background checks.

Strange snowless winter here. It's 52 degrees in February. Normal highs in Feb are mid 30s. It was a nice day for a bike ride in a T- shirt. But very weird.

The Mudsill Theory and Karoline Leavitt Education and manual work aren't opposed, and Republicans ought to know it.

But to set up a dichotomy that people who work with their hands don’t need an education infuriates me.

Plumbers deserve to go to college. Maybe they’re not going to Harvard, maybe the local community college, but they deserve an education.

I think community education is key here. Everyone knows how to plant grass and mow a lawn. That takes zero aesthetic skill. But not everyone knows how to make & maintain a good-looking xeriscaped yard. I'd love to switch, if I knew what I was doing.

2 escalations and a threat to quit required to get anyone to comply? That's not a good situation.
