You're looking at the largest land animal of the Permian (~290 MYA), Eryops megacephalus, which translates to "long-face giant-head".
It's a GIANT AMPHIBIAN. Like somewhere between a SALAMANDER & a FROG, but hog-sized.
And, to get this out of the way, bears a striking resemblance to Barney. 🟣🦖

Desert landscapes with bushes of green and browns. A bright red ocotillo flower is in focus and a huge volcanic neck is a bit blurry in the background. This mountain is eroded and has a flat top. The sky is blue but with wispy clouds in the sky as well.
Beautiful mountain in Superior, AZ known as Picketpost. This was a volcano that was a part of the same complex of volcanos that created Superstitions Mtns near PHX. Ocotillo blooming in the desert after a rain with bright red blooms.
