I'm more comfortable with metal too, or MDF, so I don't need to think about grain paths knots etc.
Building/modding is great fun - engines, kit cars, M/C's, brewing system, studio, booth...

They're a great tool, but need treating with lots of respect. Lots of checks under the workpiece for cables/fingers/ & the workbench edge - mine "might" now have a small notch in it
