A guy at one of our past meetups got his keycaps delivered as he was stepping out to drive over, so he just brought the box and finished his board at the display table. You never know!

Would highly recommend looking around to see if there's a keyboard meetup in your city or one close to you!
It's a great way to get started on at least the sound and feel aspect, and you'll be around a bunch of people who are very knowledgeable on it
Omg, it's adorable
What caps are those?
Oh that's gonna be gorgeous, hell yeah!
Osume is *always* a great choice
Adorable styles and colors, I've put them on two different boards of mine lol
^seconded
There's also a discord for mechmarket that you could check
^ this for sure. It is a very *very* deep rabbithole, so the more info, the better lol
There's a LOT of options, so definitely take your time lol
I'm still struggling to settle on a silent tactile for a work board I'm putting together, so probably gonna be ordering a few small batches of 5 or 6 different switches and just go from there
Solid choice! I haven't tried the salmons personally, but the Quinns are also good
Once you figure out if you like a P shape or D shape tactility, that's where you can really get into finding ones you like
Osume keycaps!
Your husband has good taste lol
Oh, and Alexotos has a good website for beginners too! Covers a lot of basics and broad terms (though also has a ton of his reviews and articles up on there, so might be a bit hard to find)
www.alexotos.com/into-custom-...
There's a LOT that can be learned from all aspects of the mech hobby though, so don't worry if it feels a bit too overwhelming at times.
Milktooth has a huge selection of switches you can filter through
Hipyotech does a lot of reviews, mods, and builds of boards (good channel to start)
Welcome to the hobby!
HMX will always be a great start for switches. They've got tactiles and linears alike that are all pretty well factory lubed so there won't be any scratch or rattly sound from them (plus they often look cute lol)
Linears: TTC Silent Frozen, HMX Silent Sakura, WS Silent Linear, and Gateron Mint Smoothie are a solid few!
If you're into tactiles, there's a few others that are great.
Would highly suggest milktooth if you're in the US, they've got a huge inventory you can filter through
Baby kangaroos are my absolute favorite switch without a doubt. Welcome to the hobby!
Otterly adorable π¦¦
This is unbelievably cool, oh my god
I went from a few Razer boards, to a ducky tkl, to now *several* custom and way more unique boards tho. After a certain point, you realize that there's really no point in going past 1000hz polling rate, and most boards hit that pretty comfortably nowadays, so it's really whatever you prefer
Wooting if you want to give hall effect a try or could legitimately benefit from the highly precise actuation
Keychron if you want to give board modding and more customizable boards a try - now or in the future
Ducky if you want to just grab it and go
Any of them are gonna be solid though tbh
They all look AMAZING omfg
You are genuinely so loved and appreciated and we're always here for you for absolutely anything. Always feel free to vent and let those things out of your system π (just make sure you then fill that system up with hydration too)
The golden boy
Some seriously gorgeous colors, can't wait to see what you do with them! You got this!
You always have such absolutely *adorable* fits! Love your style~
The fit oh my GOD
Wuque Studio Pearls, Gateron Baby Kangaroos, SP Star Magic Girls, so so many...
I mean, if you're looking for a fourth, the purple mecha color variant of the W70 might interest you π
Although it'd be an absolute hunt to find it second hand lol
These all look sick though, seriously!
LOL I've only got one uniform set on my boards and it lowkey throws me off when I use it cause everything else I have is Cherry profile, but that Astha is too cute!
It reminds me of DSA Milkshake, just a little more fun with the designs, and that's a set I wish I figured out a build with for sure
Omg I love those mods!
What keycap set is that?
Beautiful work! All the detail and the reflections are absolutely gorgeous
