Dropkick Murphys finish up their set at a benefit show across from Alex Pretti Memorial: “We’ll never forget what we saw with our own eyes, we’ll never forget what we’ve seen here today. thank we’ve seen here today. Thank you all for allowing us to come bear witness with you, thank you Minnesota!”.
It’s Bandcamp Friday - great Simmerdown ska music at simmerdownmusic.bandcamp.com
And for the life of me, I can’t figure out what I did wrong beyond not wanting to pay my own money to drive 2k miles round trip, and take three days off work, to play a show for “clout.” Solid business plan. Fuck all you creepers. So much for “friends.” I’m the one who never compromised my values. 😂
A former band member, who I count as one of my best friends ever, was creeping my accounts…to learn what? And it just breaks my fucking heart. Heartbroken. 💔 Buy a record.
Still here. Still doing it. Ska, rocksteady, reggae, punk. Tomorrow is BandCamp Friday, so please visit simmerdownmusic.bandcamp.com for some great ska releases!
I released an album “way back when.” Yesterday, I told that band about “The Midnight Pooper” at my old workplace, and how it relates to their history. And I cried actual tears because I was laughing so hard.
I’m totally fine with people cancelling anything Cameron Collins touches. It’s beyond time to pick a side.
It’s a ways out there, to be sure.
An aerial photo showing Sand Island and Eastern Island and the surrounding coral reefs that make up Midway Atoll.
Anyone wanna see the island where I was born?
Booked more studio time on April - some instrumental skinhead reggae coming your way!
I’m also working on a Big Youth and Dennis Bovell session and it sounds groovy.
A group of young upstarts who know a lot about punk, given their young age (21-22). They’re called JAB, and we just went into the studio with Jerry A. of Poison Idea offering guidance. These kids are righteous. Debut 7” in the spring.
I just helped make one of the greatest PDX punk albums of all time. I’m proud of them. I’m proud of me.
James, Bryce, and Jay sitting outside an isolation booth/inside the control room, while Annie sings into a microphone setup inside the booth.
The end of a long day, but Annie (in the booth) and James, Bryce, and Jay have recorded one hell of a punk rock record. Dialing it in tomorrow with Jerry A. of Poison Idea producing/mixing, along with Justin of The Hallowed Halls.
Here is JAB at a recent show to benefit victims of ICE.
Thank you! I’ve had longtime friends who have stopped supporting me. And, the joke is on them. I’m still here.
I am about to take JAB into the studio with Jerry A. of Poison Idea producing. And we’re going to make a great punk rock record.
I wish I could explain chronic pain syndrome. Let’s just say that some level of pain is ever-present, every moment of my life. I am trying ALL of the coping strategies, and am hopefully headed for a ground-breaking knee surgery. In any case, I’m in pain and I have PTSD and it sucks. #chronicpain
Let's start a club of Theatrical Howard the Duck Viewers. All 200 of us.
Excited to tell you about JAB, a femme-fronted punk band, that specializes in one minute blasts of righteous fury. We’re going into the studio, two weeks from today, with Jerry A. of Poison Idea producing. The next great punk record from Portland!
I don’t know what I’ve done to warrant new followers, but this is it - I own a ska and punk record label and I am avowedly antifascist. Go somewhere else if you are not.
I have a three day weekend. I earned it.
I’ve had dreams that start like this.
Pleased to report that my AirPods are still working after going through the washer AND the dryer.
How, in the name of all that is holy, were we in a theater of four (?) or five (?) people that saw this on opening day? I’m both embarrassed and impressed. Claim to fame.
I got a new batch of t-shirts from @nightowl.bsky.social and my friends and I are going to look so suave.
I recommend Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra and The Slackers - both of whom have releases on Simmerdown!
My alma mater! Would have loved to have seen this.
I was “this week years old” when I first found out that Millie Small’s “My Boy Lollipop” is actually a cover.
