2 years since full release! It's been such a fun journey so far! We've learnt a tonne and met some amazing people!
Onto the next game! π
Totally fair! I've had a bit of fun trying to read a few of them myself!
Probably best used to get the ideas flowing, rather than as-is! π
Some of my favourites so far are "sterug", "antreatur", and "corrupto"!
A screenshot showing a list of "smashes" - words that have been smashed together. The list includes steffecat, tcollectorcrystall, etacrr, uar, ruptsterydeck.
We needed inspiration for a name for our new game. So I hacked together this little tool to SMASH words together!
Not all of the smashes are winners. Let me know if you get any good ones! π

So proud of my bro! There's gonna be some hecking well-coded games coming out of SA! π
Woohoo! Just achieved a 700 day duolingo streak for learning Japanese! π
I'm glad to be making small steps in this direction, even if it's slower than full-time study. Also, full disclosure: There's been a good deal of streak freezes used to get here! π§π₯
Working on something new! π
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it! π
I really enjoyed this talk, thank you for presenting it!
I've been asked to share some of the lessons from it at my workplace. Did you happen to, or would you be willing to, upload the slides for this talk anywhere? I was frantically taking notes but missed some of the great examples you shared π
A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who tuned in to The ANZ Indie Showcase premiere!
We weren't lying when we said the line-up was stacked π

My nephew does this in Super Mario Wonder and is convinced his data will not be saved unless it is done!
I do the same in No Man's Sky, just to make sure I see the "your last save was x seconds ago" message.
It could be rooted in experienced/expected behaviour of other games.
I just got a sleek new MacBook Air!
In other news: game dev productivity has gone up because "oohh new shiny!"
So keen for this! π
In case any of my fellow creatives also needed this reminder:
I'm also a web developer, turned team lead, turned security person for my day job.
I like to concern myself with performance, accessibility, processes and security!
I'm always keen to learn more and improve in what I do π

Howdy Bluesky! π
I'm Alex, 1 of 3 brothers who make up Daytime Devs. Together we released our first game Super Bawk Bawk Chicken in 2023! π
