:pleading:
I've made the decision to step away from my leadership position at Splatoon Stronghold.
I will continue to do interviews, manage the Splatoon Community Census, and promote the scene and the many benefits of being part of it.
I believe that this is the path that best enables me to do this.

we really should not have buffed small blaster
In general, I think Blasters should have only gotten the hitbox change for directs. Buffing indirects which were already crazy strong feels like overkill, squid form being smaller to avoid it should have been the point. Even if its nice for RB, I feel its better to just revert the hitbox change tbh.
Promotional graphic for the Stronghold Beginners Academy All-Stars tournament. An orange balloon with the SBA logo with text to the right reading "Stronghold Beginners Academy." To the right of the text is Cas, Stronghold's mascot, sitting and holding a chump while a chump is on either side of her. On the bottom, text reads "Season 6 sign ups are live! splatoonstronghold.com/academy."
Signups for Season 6 of the Stronghold Beginner's Academy are now open!

How to expand the map/crossfire properly. Feel like I can do alot of these pretty fast, I didn't know how good sendous map planner was until I tried it out and it's super useful π #compsplatoon
this is because having your big cross map laser makes space for free btw!!! if youre just shooting at the same place as everyone else youre not making space and not creating opportunities for your team
Like a magazine ad, a promotion for Splatoon Stronghold's interactive LAN map, with stickers saying "Wow!" and "New!". An orange world map takes up most of the area, with an Inkling and Octoling in swim form sitting in the bottom left corner, making travel plans to pins on the map.
Splatoon Stronghold is excited to announce its newest community resource--an interactive map showing you where the nearest upcoming LANs are taking place! Finding a LAN has never been easier! #splatoon #compsplatoon

haven't posted these in a while, here is the graph for SBA s6 applications so far
we're already at double the amount of total applications we had last season lol
idk where this will end up when we close applications in 5 days but the logarithmic curve implies a very scary high number
How did I mistype that. Iβm so fake for that </3
Canβt believe itβs not the melee tap shot that hits for 12 dmg (Vertical is also my favorite)
Favorite Wiper hitbox?
Heavy splatling paint in 11.0 roughly +23%
?????
Definitely better than decav ngl.
I loved playing backline. I just got to sit back and be evil
Wiper vert on blocks is silly
I've definitely played all kinds of weapons during my time playing this game. If only I had realized how much I like Wiper way earlier.
Today I've been working on a tool to help download replays.
1) Copy-paste some text into this webpage pancakes.ink/replays (on your phone)
2) It generates links to the Splatnet app for every code it finds
3) Tap the link and Splatnet queues the download
Useful? Pointless? Bugs? Requests? Hugs?

Version 11.0.1 accidentally included some balance changes that were intended for a future update.
β’ Rapid Blaster: Increased the radius inked by spray droplets from shots by about 10%.
β’ Rapid Blaster Pro: Increased the amount of ink consumed by about 14%.

My favorite thing about this patch is watching people trying to brute force slider into zones and having it fail. I've even seen it both in xrank and from some midlevel players. Guys we've gotta actually play the videogame now π, I promise your 8th slider into zone won't magically paint more
itd be nice if we could create actual change, so on the topic of this + pika's qrt about resulting--
in the past i couldn't figure out how mentality/ego could be improved
but in hindsight the answer was straightforward: surround yourself with solid people and build the right culture internally \
After playing 40+ hours with midlevel, I can confidently say it was the most miserable experience Iβve had playing this game mostly because I skipped this part of the scene back in S2 and didnβt realize how bad it could actually be. Itβs not miserable because of overall skill level, because yeah everything is gonna feel worse outside of top level after being in it for long. The biggest thing hurting this part of the scene is ego. I had over 60 tryouts, and almost all of them said itβs hard for them to even get four people to try out with. That genuinely confused me, because for the most part everyone I played with felt extremely similar in skill, and I could easily see these players scrimming each other regularly and figuring out how to mesh over time. This explains a lot of why midlevel feels weaker as a whole. A lot of these players simply donβt get enough meaningful playtime outside of rare pickups or X Rank, so theyβre missing the constant feedback loop that actually drives improvement. Playing against people at a similar level forces you to recognize patterns, and improve through adaptions. Over time, that raises the average skill for everyone involved. There were so many situations in games where I had to explain why we were losing or what we needed to change to win and I honestly think most of these players wouldβve figured it out themselves eventually if they were consistently playing each other instead of isolating themselves or waiting for βbetterβ lobbies. when players actually PLAY THE GAME, the average skill level naturally rises. This isn't entirely mid levels fault though, I think top level players can do a better job at providing knowledge to mid level players to improve but better questions need to be asked to top players too, all the time I see questions like oh what special is best or how do i play "insert weapon here" these are terrible questions and we need to move on to better questions like "what should i have done in this scenario here" bβ¦

Please do something about the AOE+paint spam meta so weapons like dualie sword and squeezer can be great and we can go back to a high skilled meta π€§ #compsplatoom
