Had a meeting with the art director yesterday, production is gonna move into high gear in the next week or two. Very exciting!

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue and Green are on a walk. Blue: Seems like the rain is easing. Green looks up to the sky. Green: Huh, it wasn't bad after all. An enormous downpour begins immediately. Calmly, Blue turns to address Green. Blue: I think it heard you.

Part one of an ongoing series of 'films that inspire The Cephelapod'

Today I want to talk about Street of Crocodiles.

This 1986 film unlocked my mind as to what animation could be. The way these dolls and marionettes move never once trying to look real, defined its own language of cinema ~Saoirse

Lightning in a bottle, definitive film grain crunch, splatter hell. Snuff and arcane. Pure fucking evil.

The film will deal with themes of grief, exploitation, and self destruction. It is a deeply personal flim that I subconciously. wrote as an avanue to wrestle with my own experiences and feelings about love and loss.

Despite being an animated film, it is not for children.

The film will utilise multimedia collages to build it's stop motion world. The backgrounds will be taken using 35mm photography and will be seeking sponsoship partners within t he 35mm world. The principle characters will be 2d paper marionettes to emphasise the themes of alianation.

This will be a film set in 18th Century Scotland and follow a whaler on a small island trying to put his life together before he encounters a supernatural option that may not provide all the answers that it seems on first glance, (is it an ocotpus? Maybe it's an octupus)

Today pre-production officially starts on my short film The Cephelapod, (you may remember my posting about this script as 'Moby Dick for perverts'). Within the coming weeks I'll preparing to launch interactivee social medias and fundraisers.
