Can thoroughly recommend a listen if you like good songwriting with a strong dose of nostalgic 60s cinema soundtrack production.

It's an astonishingly beautiful album with, as you rightly point out, a slight sense of unease and perhaps even faint paranoia, nestling just below a surface of unashamed nostalgia. Strong suggestions of Gerry Anderson composer Barry Gray in there, too.
