Yes, kind of. I constantly see them misconstrued. The Sims Creator Program is within the EA Creator Network. You can be in the Network without being in the Program, like I was the past few months. That is what resulted in my Creator Code being disabled. The early access opps. overlap, I think.
So I made a statement: This week EA announced The Sims Marketplace and The Sims Maker Program. If you're unaware, the Marketplace will be a virtual store where Makers can host their CC for purchase with a new virtual currency called Moola. You can read more about it here: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/the-sims-maker-program-and-marketplace. With the buyout officially moving forward and the recent announcement, I have officially requested to be removed from the EA Creator Network. A few months ago, I left The Sims Creator Program, which is what provided me with a Creator Code. With today's request, I'm severing all formal ties with EA. To be entirely transparent, I originally wanted to join the EA Game Changers program (as it was formally known as) because I genuinely wanted to share new content with you all before it was made available to the general public. I've never shied away from the fact I do truly love The Sims 4. My channel was created due to my passion for this game and the Sims franchise. Getting game codes for free (for a game I love) and having the potential to "work with" the developers sounded like a fantastic opportunity. When I was accepted into the program in 2023, I was elated.
I was wholly naΓ―ve and not at all thinking about the greater conversation surrounding EA's predatory DLC model and practices. Implicit bias aside, I thought I could at least help people who chose to watch my videos make reasonable, informed decisions pertaining to new DLC. But, evidently, all I was truly doing was feeding into and playing a part in an extremely anti-consumer strategy that has now resulted in my favorite franchise being reduced to microtransactions, producing bloated games with 100+ DLC, and predatory practices that seek to take advantage of the work of CC creators and modders whilst reaping profits. I do not say all of this lightly. I wholeheartedly reject the launch of The Sims Marketplace. Previously, I had been very vocal about my grave concerns pertaining to the pending buyout. Suffice it to say, I no longer feel as though my being in the Network is beneficial to myself, to you, or the greater community. In fact, I see it as doing more harm than good. Being affiliated with EA is not aligned with my values in the slightest.
I truly cannot believe how gluttonous this recent decision is on EA's part. If that company had any integrity--an iota of incorruptibility--they would abolish the Marketplace and dismantle the Maker program by end of business today. I do understand that some may feel differently--and that's okay--you don't need to see things from my perspective, but I wanted to share why I feel so strongly about this. Greed has no bounds and to profit off the backs of members of the community in this way--where it's so blatant and unapologetic--I simply can't do it anymore. I've had misgivings around Creator Kits in the past, which I've discussed, as well as the continuous deluge of DLC as the game becomes more and more bloated. Despite all of this I also want to express my appreciation and love for our CC creators and modders. They make the world go round, honestly. My opinions of the Marketplace and Maker program are not synonymous with criticism directed towards them. They're not mutually exclusive. I also have great love and respect for the developers at Maxis. They are not responsible for the decisions EA makes and I do believe they are all equally as passionate about The Sims as we are as players.
I simply urge us all to consider whether we want to support a company like EA. I've made my choice and others will make theirs. I have friends who are in the Network and there are CC creators who are participating in the Marketplace whose work I love. Judgment doesn't come into play for me. Since I had already made the decision to not make videos with any new Sims content, nothing will change here. I will continue making videos with the content I already have in my library and enjoy the game for what it is. To emphasize, I do very much love The Sims 4. If I didn't love it, I would have stopped playing years ago. I still enjoy it very much, I love using it as a storytelling medium, and I love building. It's that simple. If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to ask. I always welcome respectful discourse. You're all the best for sticking by me all these years. This channel is what it is because of you all and I continue to have so much fun sharing my creations with you. Thanks for reading π€
Iβm leaving the EA Creator Network.
If EA had any integrityβany level of incorruptibilityβtheyβd abolish the marketplace and dismantle the maker program by end of business tomorrow. Honestly, what an asinine move.

I donβt doubt this was presented in a way that could have misled people, but non-disclosure is totally normal for something like this. So is withholding details when garnering initial interest. So important to read contacts in-full before signing. Possible predatory targeting doesnβt surprise me.
Iβm not defending EA here in the slightest. The non-disclosure component is entirely normal for something like this, but I donβt doubt people were likely misled in the first place.

DEY WHAT THE FUCK
I 100% believe that the morale at Maxis is extremely low, and empathise with the developers. This does not, however, soften the blow of the marketplace existing as a model in the first place, and should not distract anyone's attention from the issue at hand. Some of you are too nice.
π‘ Bingo.
Thatβs what I always assumed. Itβs common practiceβcontract the work out because itβll be far cheaper than hiring a full-time employee or team (benefits packages, salary, etc.). Itβs just greedy.
And I have NO clue how they are compensated, but I know the creatorβs codes are pushed and the commission is raised. Yet the promo is minimal at best on EAs end; itβs the community hyping them up and encouraging people to use their codes. Idk this is gross to me. Iβm fuming.

Hey, if Iβve got some pieces of info wrong, tell me. I could be missing something critical here, but as I understand things now with the information I have, I hate this. I think itβs ridiculous and I think EA is (and has been) ruining this franchise. This is a soft launch for the future of the sims.
I expressed similar concerns with creator made kits. They do all the work, get a cut, but EA pockets most of the profits and they didnβt need to pay a full time employee to do so. Hiring contractors in that way is to save money. Itβs greedy and INSANE from a multibillion dollar company like EA.
I need to explicitly say I wholeheartedly do not support this. Donβt misconstrue that with not supporting CC creators/modders because I do.
EA taking 70% of the sales in the marketplace is insane behavior. Itβs the TS3 store all over again, but using creators to generate the content.
Itβs just gluttonous and greedy. I canβt stand it.
