Trump is proving me right about the flaw in the whole moving out of the US thing. Where are you going to go that is safe from American over reach. Better to stay and fight.

Seeing their superstitions supplant the law must be heady stuff. If the Trump regime fails to effectively subvert the upcoming elections will the Xian nationalists be willing to revert to the 'losing side' stance? Will they instead finally break out into civil war?

You have clearly not read the War Powers Act, Mike. Everything you've written is totally wrong.

The War Powers Act SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITS military action unless: a/ there is a prior congressional authorization; or b/ it's a response to an attack against the U.S.

Seems like normalizing killing or kidnaping political leaders you don't like might eventually have unintended consequences for Trump.

It’s just a little war so all those school kids we killed are just a little dead. DJT on Truth Social tomorrow.

Fewer bloodthirsty religious zealots in the world isn't an inherently bad thing but just based on the math fewer Israeli government affiliated religious zealots would seem to be a better deal.

As I ride my bike around Baltimore I see many retired school buildings. I also see people sleeping in doorways. I have to wonder what it would cost to turn those buildings into dorms for people without options for a bed, a shower, a toilet. Not apartments just a basic barracks to keep costs low.

Seems like a good time to remember that under Eisenhower the top US marginal tax rate was 92%. The 1950s, a time when by any modern Republican metric America was really great. Taxing rich people substantially makes for a good economy. We have the receipts.

When people wonder at the excess cruelty during revolutionary France's Reign of Terror after centuries of wealth & power providing impunity I can only say I'm ready to guillotine quite a few people after just a few decades of it.

The Dems have always had FDR in their back pockets in much the same way the Republicans wish they had Lincoln but instead they want to be the party of Wall St

As I remember it a few Germans and Japanese political and military figures did go to the gallows. It was Sherman, hardly a flaming racial equalizer who came up with 40 acres and a mule.

Hanging Davis, Lee and the secessionist leadership would have been a good first step. Dispossessing the slave owner aristocracy and redistributing the land to the former slaves would have under cut the resources that went into the resurgence of the southern conservatives in the 1870-80s.

I realize that we are all watching as the republic is collapsing around us but just in the nick of time we are reminded that curling exits and that takes at least some of the edge off.

Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

Calling it now: the US political media's treatment of AOC is going to make their treatment of Hillary Clinton or Al Gore look like a model of balance and discretion.

(around an image of a masked ICE agent holding a gun) Republicans "One Big Beautiful Bill' nearly tripled funding for ICE. That money came from your benefits:

paid for by cuts to reproductive health care

paid for by cuts to Medicare & Medicaid

paid for by cuts to SNAP

paid for by cuts to clean energy projects

paid for by cuts to obesity prevention

paid for by cuts to disaster response

paid for by cuts to energy tax credits
