Was really excited that I came up with Marine Le-Penitentiary. Felt like that was a dead cert viral hit. Decided to see if anyone else had thought of it. Logging-off.

Very sad news to hear.
He wasn't to everyone's liking but I've always appreciated his work.
Little Green Street, Kentish Town. Apart from being an attractive Georgian street, it has a special place in popular music history.....β¬οΈ

Joe OβConnor has just missed the final black of what could have been his second career 147. The native of Leicester lost position while going from a pink in the baulk to a black on the spot, eventually missing the last pot by inches. Nonetheless a great break but a big disappointment for Joeβ¦ #147sf
Hi Hannah. I'm working on the night shifts so just a pizza for me tonight, no cooking.
Barcelona Chair, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
The Barcelona Chair, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929 for the Barcelona World Exposition, is an iconic modernist masterpiece. Created as a luxurious seating option for Spanish royalty, the chair features a sleek chrome X-frame and hand-crafted leather cushions.
Burnt Oak Broadway circa 1926 and in the present day. To the far left is the junction of Stag Lane and in the far distance is Edgware.
This is one of my favourite images and sums up perfectly the changes the area went through. Let's take a further look...
Topical Press/LTM.
I heard Jimmy Durante's version of 'Young at Heart' on the radio this morning and I might have to change my funeral music. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMqD...
Our universe yes.
Caught up on Alan Bennett at 90.
The Thora Hird clip very moving to see again.
Always plenty to go around π·
Mustard pork cutlets, roast potatoes and mashed carrot + swede. Glass of Rioja.
Reminded me of that Tony Hancock line....βFlowers is alright, but it's taters as feeds yerβ
I sometimes do too but it invariably involves bubble and squeak.I always judge a cafe by it's bubble and squeak.
For lunch sure but what's for dinner?
Salmon and salad with a few little roasties thrown in.
βWhelmedβ really means βcapsizedβ - the over and under were added later for effect. But you can be consolate: consoled and comforted. And gruntled too.
I get them from Delicatezza. They do great Italian food and delivered too.
One dish Sicilian Luganega fennel sausage with roasted vegetables, it tastes better than it looks. One of my favourites. A drop of Chilean Bordeaux blend.
I honestly really enjoy a double ,double with liquor. When I worked at East India dock I used to have a little bimble down to Maureen's in Chrisp Street. It's the liquor that brings it all together (chilli vinegar optional, white pepper essential).
The cover of the John Coltrane Quartet album βA Love Supremeβ
Sixty years ago today. Still as heavy as it gets. The more I hear this music, the more unfathomable the brilliance of the people who made it feels to me.
Great pub, worth a visit.
I was going to have a couple of pints of the oyster stout but the beer street is going down lovely jubbly.
Popped into The Bohemia in Finchley.

Haven't been in the office for a long while so treating myself to haddock and chips at Kennedy's, Goswell Road.

Hendon Housing Estate (1920), oil painting by Russell Sidney Reeve.
This painting came up as a query from @mhhistsoc.bsky.social last night. They wanted to know where the spot was. It was a familiar question, because it was the subject of an exhaustive thread I did a few years ago, on Twitter.
Sunday roast leftovers. All the trimmings without the meat.
