The immediate driver of this decision is the fact that I need to get ASHG updates but Twitter is too disturbing for me to reliably go over my feed. sigh

Possibly making a Bsky comeback? Let's see.

The original red cover of the book Inkheart by Cornelie Funke. In the middle of the cover, a window is seen. The fingers of a person are grasping the window edge. The view from the window is of a burning city. On the sides of the cover, there are lizards, coins and fairies.

I know it said no explanations or reviews, but with my whole heart I recommend this to any parent with an elementary schooler. I think I read it when I was 7 or 8 years old and this series is still on my all-time-fav shelf.
The original cover of George's secret key to the universe: in the middle is a big blue planet. In front of it, George is seen standing on a comet in a space suit. The background is silver. The names 'Lucy & Stephen Hawking' are writtin in the bottom of the screen in capital letters.

Judging my process the same way I judge someone else's result is simply unfair, and unhelpful. Yet that's what I'm doing all the time and it makes all of it very hard.
Reminder to self: when I'm reading a paper, I see the result. Sometimes, I can see the part of the process which turned out to be positive.
When I'm looking at my own work, I'm seeing the process, in all it's parts, and very rarely the result.
Thought I would migrate to Bsky full time, but so far have been really avoiding it. I feel like that might be the fact that the feed is so science heavy, I constantly get the overwhelming post-conference feeling? which is not what I was looking for.

It's an opportunity to say that I absolutely love the pod!! have been listening (mostly to new episodes, PhD life got me so busy...) for the last couple of months and it is fantastic.
Highly recommend @nightsciencepod.bsky.social to anyone who is pod-aligned and in science.
Really excited each time a name I recognize from social media appears in class (it used to be the other way - I would go and follow people whose work I was shown). Today it was @itaiyanai.bsky.social in a cancer genomics seminar βΊοΈ

I use following (which in my case has plenty of people who post a lot e.g. links to new papers, starter packs) and 'quiet posters' - the latter for users who can be buried by people who post a lot.
I'm a PhD in Biomed, would love to be added :)
