This misses the point that even when these diseases are prevalent and the serious outcomes are a public health problem, most people's experience of them is as mild diseases. Measles was not a 'harrowing' disease for me or most of my generation. Public health messaging needs to recognise this.

3/3 Unfortunately RFK Jr is serious only about issues that will enrich him and his buddies. That the doctors in his sphere of influence - Bhattacharya, Oz, Makary, Prasad - do not speak out is shameful.
2/3 The LE at different ages tells a story. First the comparative decline in the USA began with Regeanomics. Second, loss of life in middle age - guns, violence and accidents - is a major problem. So, if RFK Jr were serious he would tackle widening gap in wealth distribution and gun violence.
1/3 RFK Jr and his dreadful acolytes claim to want to MAHA. The decline in population health in the USA based on life expectancy over the past 70 years is dramatic. In 1950 LE in the USA was 2.5 years less than the world's best. In 2022 if was 8.5 years less and worse than Puerto Rico.

It is a completely weird aspect of modern politics is how the politician, rather than having beliefs/values/policies that they try to 'sell' to voters, they try and work out what policies will win them the most votes.
Mandatory annual training is painful. Just done one where one of the assessment questions was what does the acronym SKATE stand for - requiring you to match five sentences to the five letters, with each sentence beginning with one of the five letters. Luckily I have a PhD. 🤦♂️
