I think clsqb is using this as a proxy for judgment of character (in line with the OP) rather than a judgement of election outcomes.
i.e. If a person votes for the the nazi party, that in of itself is a judgment, even if the nazi party would never take power.

People who want children need to plan and save in advance for k-12 education costs, just like the rest of us do for big-ticket wants. It’s hardly an unknown factor. Plan, save, reproduce prudently and within means.
