It's even worse on Threads, but yes, this is a real problem here too.
Feelin' super
Expect some awesome --- and long overdue --- comic news from me in the next week!
22 years later, Pokemon FireFred and LeafGreen don't merely slap. They SPANK.
The best possible name for a DoorDasher
A critic once derided Excalibur as βglam rock Arthurβ, which is like dismissing a cake for being too rich and flavorful.
To my fellow writers/journalists who use beehiiv, Substack, or other subscription platforms:
I'm setting up a site/newsletter on beehiiv, and I need some pointers. DM me or comment if you don't mind answering a few quick Qs!
Okay, so here's the thing about Bad Bunny:
He fuckin' rocks.
The constant workouts are definitely starting to pay off :)

As I approach five years of sobriety from alcohol, I'm more convinced than ever that this was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Here's to many, many more!
Want to celebrate comics, immigrant rights, and the LGBTQIA+ community all at once? Pledge to @jmbrandt.bsky.social's horror anthology on Kickstarter. It looks excellent!

Denouncing ICE is only controversial if you're human garbage.
I am doing my best to respond to this without a string of expletives. But let's be very clear. What just happened in Minnesota was cold blooded murder of a civilian by out of control federal agents, aided and abetted by the entire Trump administration and their fascist enablers.
There is no justifying, no sympathizing or empathizing with ICE's actions. They are government-sanctioned murderers, plain and simple, and they need to be imprisoned for the rest of their lives.
28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE is a weird, unrepentant delight.
Definitely prefer it over its predecessor.
Not that her return would've made any sense, but still.
I adored it, too. My review over at The Seattle Times: www.seattletimes.com/entertainmen...
Yeah, so I adored WONDER MAN.

Post a comic cover you love.
DC covers used to slap (pun absolutely intended)!
Fingers crossed I don't walk out of this Safeway to find some guy mashing his testicles against random cars in the parking lot.
That was last night's vibe, apparently.
It's one of my favorite books about movies!
It's a shame our society holds so many weird, moralistic stances about exercising, because it leads people to rebel against the idea that "moving your body" has immediate benefits for our mental health. (Your body doesn't need to be "fit," whatever that means, but it does need to move!)
I need a detailed, in-universe explanation for why the dialogue in STRANGER THINGS 5 is so awful.
The writing has become so lazy, so trite, so soullessly translated from script to screen that my brain flags it as a season-long continuity error.
This is not the show it was even 3 years ago.
Josh O'Connor was already one of my favorite working actors, so you could imagine how vindicating his turn in Kelly Reichardt's THE MASTERMIND was for me.
It's a masterfully understated performance, one characterized not by explosiveness but by quiet desperation.
Blew me away.
My latest acquisitions :)
