Archbishop Stephen addresses a group of clergy in a church building
Good to share with @archbishopofyork.org in leading a quiet day for clergy from across @dioceseofyork.bsky.social in Northallerton on praying the Psalms this Lent.
Looking forward to welcome @andrewrumsey.bsky.social to Helmsley church on 14th March, where he will kindly be playing his new album. Tickets direct from the church.
2-1 to #bhafc after 14 mins re Notts Forest - wonder if @skysportspl.bsky.social knew it would be such end to end stuff when they....[drum roll please]....put it on the Tennis channel!

John with the Archdeacon, Assistant Area Dean, Churchwardens and colleague Priest in the parish
Much celebration this evening as John Keeley is licensed as Priest-in-Charge of Holy Trinity, North Ormesby and St Thomas, Brambles Farm. Cracking unexpected mini-sermon from the Mayor of Middlesbrough, who likened Middlesbrough to the boy offering his lunch in the feeding of the thousands!

Impressive to get a tour around Cleveland Fire Brigade HQ before having lunch there with various charity and civic leaders from across Teesside. There's so many good news stories from across Middlesbrough at the mo, albeit often emerging in the context of desperate poverty.
So when referring to multiple Shrove Tuesday, is it Shrove Tuesday's, Shroves Tuesday or something really odd like Shrive?!
A dozen candidates holding candles with their clergy David and Mary and me
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia (getting them in before Lent starts on Wednesday!).
A beautiful end to the day with baptisms and confirmations of candidates from Thirsk, Northallerton and Romanby @dioceseofyork.bsky.social. Such moving stories of God at work in the grit of life. Alleluia!
It seems somewhat sad that in 2026 working class people are still needing to speak out to be supported in vocations. God who calls and knows everyone by name cares about us all equally and so our call should be recognised equally.
βMiddlesbrough Being advertised at the moment, and more in the coming months, are a cracking range of vacancies in and around Middlesbrough and Cleveland. Of all traditions, sizes, urban and rural, town, Moors and costal, including a number in beautiful but some of the most overlooked communities in the country. These are churches without spare funds for big, or indeed often any, adverts and yet with exciting mission and ministry, creativity and openness for more, and collaborative support from colleagues. Currently open roles can be found on yorkdiocese.org, or contact Bishop Barry Hill (bishopofwhitbyea@yorkdiocese.org) or Archdeacon Amanda Bloor (adcl@yorkdiocese.org) for more details and details of those coming soon.
With some cracking clergy vacancies in the archdeaconry of Cleveland @dioceseofyork.bsky.social, would be hugely grateful for people sharing this slightly subversive @churchtimes.bsky.social approach to advertising, so the people God is calling can best see it! Do contact Amanda or me for a chat...
π Valentine's evenings sound quite the footballing rollercoaster in your household. A quiet meal next year sounds well earned!
Not quite the result I promised Mrs Hill when suggesting we spend valentines night watching the footy, but at least #bhafc showed lots of potential and fought hard to the final whistle even when 3-0. On a different night with luck on our side we might only have lost 2-0.
Looks like quite the weather scene on the Moors! Blessings.
A lovely 3 min video about what it means to be an intercultural church in @dioceseofyork.bsky.social

Markby Green community rooms from the outside
A hand painted sign saying We Love Netherfields
A joy to join with Connect Church at 4pm, which meets in Markby Green, Netherfields in Middlesbrough @dioceseofyork.bsky.social . Real life, deep faith as we reflected on being jars of clay and the incomparable light of Christ.
Rev Victor and me standing by a large chair
Wonderful morning with the community at Holy Trinity, North Ormesby, including being led in pray in English, Farsi and Yoruba, as we celebrated the blessings of being such a diverse community. Revd Victor doing great job holding the vacancy ahead of new Vicar John being licensed on 26th Feb.
