Looks like the public transportation is striking again on Friday. This time I will be prepared and I will work in Home-Office.
So happy that this preprint is out! My first manuscript funded by my own grants! Thanks to the team of students, supervision, all funding opportunities, and everyone that gave me a moment to assist with coding, visualizations, and my endless number of questions!

The snow is so much worse today. And, no. I did not learn my lesson and take my laptop home so that I could do home office. That would make far too much sense!
Snowing on a Monday and I am in the office. Where would I rather be? Correct - On the couch, under a blanket, with the cats, and reading a book.
Found one in the wild! Models of the language network in a published paper in a (presumably) predatory journal.
I think I'd be concerned if a patient had four anterior temporal lobes in their lert hemisphere, it might affect their conprehension

I went to the lab 5.5 hours ago to have a meeting, decided to finish organizing the EEG lab... just now made it back to my office. And look at the time! Time to go home :)
Is the Duolingo owl the new Ferryman? Are two coins still enough? I sold my soul in the 90s for an otterpop... I'm running out of options here!
Do I have work to do in my office? Yes - plenty!
Am I instead reorganizing the lab? Also yes - because why not!
It's Monday, the public transportation services are striking (again), I have lots of appointments today, I woke up at 4am, it took me almost 2 hours to get to work, and I would have rather done home office. Alas, here I sit in my office. Hopefully I can make it home later (takes 1.5 hours to walk)
The wordle today was more than difficult. I got it in 5, but didn't know it was a word
And with that, teaching for 2025 is over. 2 week break and back at it again!
At least tomorrow will be an easy Friday :)
Come work with us!!

Vertcat and horzcat won't help you here
Because it took me too lobg to figure out - when you wabt to combine 2 3D matrices in #matlab, where the x and y dimensions are the same, you just want to stack them in the z dimension: you want the cat function. Specifically
cat(3, MatrixA,MatrixB);
E.g., for trial-wise EEG data across part. :)

Not even 2 cm of snow and everyone forgets how to drive... an 18 minute bus ride became an hour long endeavor.
Gotta love Mondays...
Two significant frontal clusters for the double-difference addressing interactions between tactile conditions (stroking vs. tapping) and visual information type are shown. A topographic map plots the average correlation coefficient for the cluster time-window with significant frontal sensors highlighted as white dots. Cluster 1, 1.356-1.428 s at three right frontal sensors; Cluster 2, 1.804-1.948 s at two right frontal sensors
Perception of affective stroking is influenced by observing yourself being touched - and these processes differ from non-affective tapping: visual modulation of pleasantness correlates with processing differences between stroking and tapping in frontal clusters.

Update - we passed the first bus and I arrived at work 4 minutes before everyone that packed themselves into the first bus.
Does that mean I used up my Karma points? Because I was saving them for a rainy day....
We even caught up to the bus in front of us within 5 minutes. Still basically an empty bus while the fiest one is absolutely packed 🤣
I always find it funny of 2 busses are arriving within 4 minutes of each other at a full bus stop, everyone gets on the 1st bus. I always wait for the 2nd one, which is 99% of the time practically empty. Guaranteed to have an open seat and no one sits next to me.
Gotta learn to play the system!

Sigh. We're gonna need a bigger story...
I'm so sorry to share that Friedemann Pulvermüller, brilliant neuroscientist, has passed. He gave Embodiment ideas legs and worked tirelessly on treatments for stroke victims during his storied career. His kindness and wry humor made him sparkle.
