Just now realizing I wrote "Sean Bean" instead of "Sean Penn" when I set up the in-office Oscars pick-the-winners competition. When does Boromir get his "it's time" Oscar, anyway?

Yamamoto dealt, Ohtani hit a granny and their team won in lopsided fashion? Taiwan players are gonna be calling for a salary cap.
Lugubrious Beavers is the only possible name for my next band.
Did I know that Menomonie High School standout Terrin Vavra was playing in the WBC for Czechia? I did not!
Perhaps that's age, or perhaps that's just empathy. It's healthy!
I take solace believing Holy Cross, judging by record alone, probably wasn't going to last much longer in the Patriot League tourney (ignoring the many historic examples that disprove this stance).
Marrrrrrrrrrrrrch
I think this is akin to an argument between writers about which Brewer actually deserves the Best Shape of His Life Award.
You do you, gentlemen. And this is absolutely you.
That is indeed what happened to a previous generation of Kentucky basketball players.

Championship-winning FT from Breanna Stewart. Fine, I guess, whatever.
Are they gonna get Arike another walk-off triple?
Have a feeling it's Hawks-or-bust, and not ideal to be fighting with a team that has no reason to tank. Don't know if I see Miami or Orlando torpedoing quite enough.
Also the Hornets now have a winning record! Sorcery!
Braeden Carrington since Jan. 13 has all single-digit scoring games except a 17, 18, 20, 21 and 32. Dude does not do a chill 10-15 points.
Kon is really gonna win ROY, isn't he?
If you care about the play-in, I fear the Bucks might be cooked.
Bay View and MATC alumnus Shelton Williams-Dryden hit 13 of 16 shot for West Georgia, finishing with 27-13-2 as his team won its Atlantic Sun Tournament game over North Florida, 93-85.
Meanwhile, this game isn't particularly interesting, but that's Thomas More alumnus McCottry and former Badger Amos squaring off. St. Louis now ranked No. 25 and leading the A10. McCottry averages 10-5-3.
Eau Claire Memorial's LJ Wells had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists as Northern Kentucky upset Oakland in the Horizon League Tournament tonight. Next up for the Norse: UW-Green Bay on Sunday in Indianapolis in a semifinal play-in of sorts.
Milwaukee Pius alumnus Jaquan Johnson first team in the Missouri Valley. Grafton's Alex Huibregtse, now with Bradley, third team and all-newcomer. Tosa East's Leon Bond (Northern Iowa) all-defense with Johnson. De Pere's Will Hornseth (NIU) on most improved team with Johnson (who got most votes)
Summit League also brings us a couple Wisconsinites. Janowski from Pewaukee was named Freshman of the year and Minessale (Milw. Marquette) was on the all-defensive team. Jeremiah Burke of Denver (St. Francis) was HM all-conference.
Should have looked closer at this all conference list in the Atlantic Sun.
Camren Hunter, ex UW player, league player of the year
Grant Asman from Kimberly, first team all-conference
Shelton Williams-Dryden, Bay View (and former MATC player), first team all-conference
The Memphis Grizzlies are signing two-way forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper on a new two-year contract, Todd Ramasar and Mike Simonetta of Life Sports Agency tell ESPN. Prosper has averaged 7.6 points and 15.8 minutes in 36 games for the Grizzlies this season.
(Whispers) I think Gus Bus might win the America East Player of the Year, too.
Doug Gottlieb's UWGB men's team march onward, winning their Horizon League Tournament opener over IPFW, 64-56. They're off to Indianapolis, playing again either March 8 or 9.
I love it when my two adult sons hang out/be dudes
Keep an eye out for ex-UW players during Championship Week; they had a great year! www.jsonline.com/story/sports...
This does not sound like the Eat The Rich concept that I want it to be.
