Just a periodic check in to say that yes, I'm still here and checking in occasionally. Gotta keep them tabs on "the other half" and all that.

The great insight in the corporate and government push for RTO is that most organizations don’t know how to measure productivity or impact of knowledge work. Even Google.

So productivity boils down to hours spent in an office building.

To all you other techie folk that are struggling to find a job or even just get interviews after months of work and hundreds of applications:

Commuting costs you more than working from home. There’s gas for your car, more spent to make yourself presentable in person (clothes, makeup, etc), buying lunch and unpaid time commuting.

It’s essentially a pay cut in the name of hallway conversations and propping up commercial real estate values.
