I just finished Marian Heratic #5 - the end of the stand alone series.
This book was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the world Tini Howard built. The story might speak louder to the queer community, I think, but it's got plenty for the non-religious to love.

Nectar #1 - Mysterious, venomous butterflies descend on a 1830s New England-ish town. The story starts with a grave bell and it visits the dancing plague.
You will think Hitchcock, you will think Lovecraft, you will think Sleepy Hollow. I like the style, but the story hasn't hooked me yet. Solid B
Joe Kelly and Al Ewing are doing terrific work right now. These three books are my favorite thing happening in Super Hero comics right now.
Supes and Batman are going to be public domain pretty soon. You think we'll see Batman infect all comics like he does DC?

I just finished Ultimate Spider-Man 24 - the series finale. I put off reading this because I was afraid it wouldn't stick the landing, or that it would be a bummer. I'm happy to report my fears were unfounded. Ultimate Endgame can still ruin everything, but I can always enjoy these 24 issues.
I'm looking forward to learning more about that woman in issue 23. 😳
This is my first Uncanny X-Men run. A woman appeared in issue 23, and I'd like to know more. For purely academic curiosity, you understand. And plot. Yes, I need to know more for the plot.

The Power Fantasy may be the best comic series I've ever read. I love this book so much.

There are warrantless home searches. There are frequent arrests of US Citizens, who turn up hours later, miles from their communities, beaten and humiliated. This conduct is worse than I would expect from a dog catcher, and we are dealing with humans who have not been convicted of any crime. 6/8
What is happening today is not law enforcement. What's happening today is an unaccountable, rogue executive branch. There are 3,000 (and rising) secret police here without accountability. 5/8
The Twin Cities police have helped I.C.E. get rid of child predators in Minnesota as recently as last year. Google "Operation Creep Bloomington I.C.E." for more information. We are acting in good faith in accordance with our laws. I.C.E. is not. 4/8
The Twin Cities have responded with peaceful protests. Many conservatives have not expressed an interest in helping. They still insist there's too much harsh language rising the temperature. The current conservative president is famous for "mean tweets." I do not think language is the issue here. 3
Masked federal agents have executed people in the streets of Minneapolis. Twice. In two weeks. There have been three shooting deaths in Minneapolis this year. Two of them were I.C.E. killing citizens. 2/8

I liked Dilbert in the 90s, when it and Foxtrot were the only strips that seemed aware of computers at all. It felt like my representation in media. In the 00s I contrasted myself against it. So thanks Scott Adams for helping me understand what I'm not.
