Ive got a growing concern that crimson desert started as an mmo and they pivoted to a multi-player game (when they talked about mercenaries a few years back) and now its going to be a flashy single player mmo lacking narrative depth. I hope to be wrong.

Definitely concerned about the bg3 series. The lack of deep larian involvement from the get go id a big red flag flapping in the wind. Would have wanted to see a Rick Riordan level of involvement.

That said, if they get the original cast and give them first crack at auditioning for those roles...

So many i told you so's about Ashes...my god can you wait until the severance checks go out before you get your credit? possibly up to 250 people just found out they dont know where they're gonna get their next paycheck. Some empathy, just for a day or two.

God damn. I admittedly was never really a fan of the vision of Ashes of Creation but its still heartbreaking to see so many devs who put so much of their heart into it so unceremoniously see those years of dedication and love just ripped away.

My heart goes out to all of them.

Absolutely. If you cant afford real actors dont use cheap immitatations. Its a giant blinking light telling me how willing you are as a developer to cut corners, beyond the ethical concerns.

And from a quality stand point its just not good. Its hollow, inauthentic and out of place. Just use text.

Beyond how fucked and childish all that is: some people want to live the story. And those people may not care about the same sense of achievement you do.

I will never understand why. Why would it matter if someone else plays a game on an easier mode that you will never play? Does this harm you?

If a story rich game can skip cut scenes. Why would I care if you can make fights easy?

At the end of the day I just want people to have fun.
